Inspired by the poem called The Man Hunt.
Thrust after thrust, Troy made love to his wife until they both climaxed. Amanda was looking into Troy's eyes and she saw he would never look into hers.
It was her husband's first night back from the army and Amanda thought that maybe he was just missing her in the sexual department, clearly not since once they were finished Troy rolled onto his back and closed his eyes.
Amanda rested her weight on her elbows, "Is that it?" Amanda snapped. Normally Troy would make her feel like they were teenagers again and at it like wild animals in heat.
Troy didn't answer his desperate wife as he turned his head to face her.
It felt like this was the first time his brown dull eyes looked into hers.
Without a word, he positioned himself so that he wasn't facing her. His bruised arm reached over and switch off the lamp.
Amanda hated this, she felt like this wasn't her husband anymore. It wasn't the same man she fell deeply in love with when they first met in High school.
"Troy? Don't you dare ignore me." Amanda yelled softly, hoping that he wouldn't get irritated when she reached over his body and turned the lamp back on.
A look of irritation ran through Troy's face but disappeared the second Amanda saw. "Why aren't you talking to me?" Amanda had teary eyes as she placed her hand on his naked chest.
She begged that her touch would help, but it didn't.
"What do you want me to say?" His voice was deeper then usual, it could have Amanda begging on her knees to take her if he just added a little seduction to it.
"I want you to say why you're being so off." It was then that she realised everything her solider has been through. Of course he wouldn't be the same. Amanda wanted to change that.
She sighed loudly as she straddled his waist. Troy's eyes slowly trailed down to her bare core that was rubbing against his sensitive areas.
"I'm sorry for being rude." She bent down and kissed his jaw to his cheek. "I love you." Amanda whispered in his ear. She was too worried to look at his reaction so she just didn't look. Instead, her hands wondered his body hoping to find a positive reaction.
But she found nothing. Not one bit of a lustful gaze towards her.
God damn it! Amanda raged in her head.
Her husband didn't want her. Amanda was positive about it because of how he reacted.
With a small sigh, she got off of him and stood up, she didn't care her naked body was showing since Troy probably wasn't even looking.
Amanda slipped on her silky robe and tightened it around her waist.
Each step she took towards her kitchen the more she wanted to cry. And so she did.
She released the tears that wanted to come out for the whole year as she started to feel faint. Amanda rested her body against the counter.
Her painfully sad cries echoed the kitchen as she lowered her head inbetween her shoulders.
It was only a few minutes later that she heard someone shuffle.
Amanda quickly wiped away her tears, embarrassed to show her saddness towards him.
"Oh. I didn't realise you were there." Troy was standing against the wall as his eyes watched Amanda's every move.
"Come here." He ordered her sternly, his finger gesturing her to come closer.
Amanda stood in front of her tall husband who had put on boxers and some bottoms that his wife had bought when he was in the army."What have I said about crying?" He used his thumb to wipe away the large tears that still hadn't been wiped away.
Amanda sniffed. One year ago, when they were the happiest couple alive Troy had always hated Amanda crying. He hated seeing her cry over things that weren't worth her salty tears."Beautiful girls shouldn't cry." Amanda whispered as her big watery eyes stared into Troy's.
"That's right." He nodded his head once. He was showing kindness and gentleness but still didn't look like he had any emotions.
"But... But... Oh forget it." Amanda walked around him but was pulled roughly back and slammed her painfully against the counter.
"Ow!" Amanda yelled out in pain as her spine hit the counter.
Troy's eyes widened slightly once he realised what he did. He took a step back and rubbed his face roughly.
There was a silence between them. There five years of marriage never once had physically pain involved. This was a shock to Amanda, he treated her roughly for the first time but she was going to let it slip.
It was his first day back home and she knew he didn't know how to react, he was high on alert at all times and was even watching Amanda carefully.
He didn't know any better after just coming back after a dangerous year.
"I..." Troy words trailed off. He didn't know what to say. "Sorry." He cleared his throat.
Amanda smiled tiredly. "It's fine." She wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her head against his chest.
He didn't hug her back.
And that's what made Amanda feel sad again.
