That Never Happened

Part 6: First Day

Maya's POV:

A few weeks have past by and the summer is over so Hazel will be starting school soon.

"We need to get Hazel's schooling figured out."  I said to Carina.  "I know we can do it tomorrow since we both have the day off."  Carina says.  Right as we finish talking Hazel wakes up. 

"Good morning bambina."  Carina said sweetly.  "Good morning Hazel."  I said.  "Good morning."  Hazel said while yawning.  Hazel still hasn't gotten used to sleeping alone so she's sleeping with Carina and I every night. 

"I hungry."  Hazel said.  "Okay let's go get some breakfast."  Carina said picking her up. 

We all go into the kitchen, Carina makes pancakes for me and her and puts together yogurt and fruit for Hazel.  We all eat breakfast together and then Carina has to leave for work. 

"Carina don't go!"  Hazel cried out.  "I have to go to work bambina, I have to help mothers have their babies."  Carina said trying to calm her down. 

"It's okay Hazel, Carina will be back in a few hours."  "Nooooo Carina no go!"  Hazel says, tears streaming down her face. 

"When I get back we can have a ton of cuddle time."  Carina says hoping that would help calm her down.  "Okay."  She says quietly.  Carina leaves and I comfort her. 

All day we spent playing together and watching movies.  When Carina got home Hazel ran up to her and gave her a big hug. 

"Ciao bambina I missed you."  Carina says picking her up. "I miss you too."  Hazel says.  I go up to Carina and kiss her, "Hi baby I missed you."

"I missed you too Bella."  "What did you and Maya do Hazel?" Carina asked.  "We played and watch movies."  Hazel said with a big smile on her face.  "Wow that sounds like fun." 

The rest of the day we ate dinner gave Hazel a bath and then went to sleep.  The next day we got all of Hazel's schooling organized and ready for her, we just needed to go school shopping. 

"After lunch we're going to go get some school supplies for you."  "I come?"  She asks.  "Yeah, you get to pick out what you want."  "Cool."  She says excited.  We ate lunch and headed to the store. 

"So Hazel you need a pencil box so you can put all your pencils, colored pencils, pens, and eraser in and you get to pick what color."  I said. 

"There's a blue, pink, yellow, and green one, which one do you want?"  Carina says crouching down to her height. "I want green!"  She says excited. 

"Okay, you also need a backpack and a lunch box so let's go see the options."  She ended up picking out a green backpack and a blue lunch box. 

"Wow I guess you really like green."  I said.  "Yeah green my favorite color."

It was now time for Hazel's first day of school

Carina's POV:

I woke up and saw that Maya and Hazel were snuggled up together still asleep.  I took a picture and then went into the kitchen to make breakfast. 

I made Maya and I French Toast and Hazel her usual yogurt and fruit.  Then I brought it into the bedroom and woke them up. 

"Wake up it''s time for breakfast."  Both of them eventually woke up and we ate breakfast together in bed.  Maya and I got dressed for work and we got Hazel dressed in some jeans, a nice green shirt, and a black and white flannel. 

We then drove her to school and walked her to her class.  "Hazel we will be here to pick you up at the end of the day."  I said. 

"Don't go."  She said.  "We have to bambina, you'll be okay."  I hugged her and I could feel my scrub top getting wet.  "Stay with you."  She wined.  "It's okay the day will be over before you know it and you'll be with us again."  I said wiping her tears.
