As the party concluded yesterday, Dhruva left for his place, and the five of us crashed at my place. We had to depart for the retreat early in the morning today. We got up around 5 a.m., and without wasting our time, we got ready. By six, we were all set to leave, and the car was packed with our luggage. Soon, we went to fetch Dhruva from his place.

As soon as he came, we started our journey to The Woodlands Spa and Resort, Lonavala. We had around 3-4 hours to kill. Our journey was filled with us belting out songs, gossiping and constant laughter. It had been a while since Dhruva joined us for a road trip. With a quick pit stop for tea and snacks, we reached our destination at around 10:30.

All of us were mesmerized when we made our way to the resort. This picturesque resort has been featured in numerous travel magazines. And for all the right reasons! It felt as if we were in heaven. The resort was situated between lush greenery. As we made our way inside, we saw a gorgeous swimming pool. Different paths led to a lodging area, recreational and wellness area, restaurant or a mini water park.

Ours was a cottage. As we made our way towards the cottage area, we saw that a few of our classmates had already arrived. We parked our car and made our way towards them. Soon, everyone came. After mingling for a while, we dispersed towards our respective cottages to settle in. The insides were beautiful.

After unpacking and freshening up, we headed to meet the others for breakfast. There was a wide variety of breakfast in the buffet area. When everyone was having breakfast, we heard Vicky speak.

“Guys! Can I have everyone’s attention, please? I know everyone must be hungry. But why not make breakfast a little fun? Rather than having a quiet meal, let’s get to know each other again. It’s been 10 years. Obviously, a lot must have changed in our lives. To thoda share kar lete he yaaro. What say?”

Everyone agreed. One thing led to another as soon everyone was sharing school memories. And so it began. From mischiefs, mimicries to teachers and their fun moments, every moment was re-visited. We knew this would take time, so we decided to shift to the common area in between. By the time everyone was done, it was past one. It’s true when they say, time flies faster when you are enjoying yourself. Till the time lunch began, we decided to relax and play Antakshari.

Our lunch was yet another lavish affair. Straight from appetizers through to desserts, there was a variety of delectable dishes. It felt as though someone had wished for the most lip-smacking courses from Genie. It was simply a paradise for a foodie. After lunch, we retired to our cottages for some rest.
