Deep in the woods I hear the birds singing and see all types of butterflies in all colours. I can sense the sweet small lamp grass scent in the air and the breeze feels cold against my bare arms. The scent and the breeze remind me of that time I met Xiao in the woods... It was love at first sight, yet not for him. I saw not a single piece of affection in his golden eyes, but of course, the adepti would never settle for someone like me. I continued on the forest path I was walking on, slowly going deeper and deeper into the dark forest. Suddenly I hear some growling behind me and I turn around to face a big mitachurl staring down at me. Full of panic I take off and run as fast as I can, hearing the mitachurls growling coming closer and closer indicating that he is decreasing the gap between us faster than I can increase it. I accidentally trip over a small stone and fall down to the ground. I try to turn around but I can feel the mitachurls heavy axe almost touching me when a sudden wind breeze swarms over my back. I turn around and the mitachurl has fallen to the ground and only the ashes of the beast remain. I look around confused over what had saved me.
"You shouldn't be out here alone", a voice whispers behind me.
"Wh- Who are yo- you?", I stutter without daring to turn around.
"You should know, I am very dangerous and I don't dare to stay around you for too long. I might hurt you so turn back and stay where you belong, in Mondstadt at home", the voice continues on and makes me frustrated.
"Who are you to tell me what to do and what to not do?", I say as I turn around in haste facing Xiao's serious expression just a few millimetres away from my face. I look into those yellow eyes and the shyness falling over me makes me look away. Xiao chuckles and takes my chin in his hand forcing me to face his gaze. He smiles teasingly and I feel my cheeks getting even more red than they were before.
"You sure got a lot of guts, I like that", he says, bringing my face closer to his. I feel sweat running all over my back with one thought in mind: What have I done? His bare existence in this area is all that takes to make me tremble on my words, losing both body and mind into subconsciousness. He looks back at me with those golden eyes, a spark suddenly ignites in them making them glow even more.
"Come with me, I'll show you the ways of the adepti", he says and lifts me up in his arms. In the blink of an eye we're high up in the air, looking down at the landscape of Liyue covered in the moonlight.
"I come here pretty often when I am feeling down or depressed", he says looking a bit sad but then he looks back at me with a small smile on his face. I feel my cheeks getting red and turn my gaze away to the beautiful landscape. The stars begin to shine brighter as the night falls over Liyue. Suddenly a hand is under my chin, turning my head towards Xiao's face. His hair is now a dark frame that fades into the night for his pale, shiny skin with those beautiful eyes that almost glow in the dark. The expression on his face indicates he is in deep thoughts as he does not have the small smile on his lips anymore. He looks at me thoroughly, not a single place of me is unexposed to his gaze. I look back at him and try to smile back but end up falling in a hypnosis by his eyes. Xiao leans in further and for a slight moment I feel a touch of his lips on my forehead, he distances himself again and whisper:
"Wait here, I feel a strange aura nearby".
He vanishes into thin air, leaving me high up in the sky all alone. I let out a sigh and stared down at the shadows of all the trees, mountains and hills in Liyue, deeply knowing that Xiao would soon come back for me.
"All I want is a piece of you", I whispered into the darkness.
"Whenever you need me, call out my name", he whispers behind me as a wind passes by.
