Chapter 24

CAMERONS POV

I barely slept for the next week.

I was by her side every second I could be.

The first three days she was the ICU so i wasn't able to see her which killed me inside.

My mind was a wreck.

" Mr. Dallas? " the nurse said.

" hm, what? " i said straightening up.

" i was saying that you should probably go home and rest, she isn't going to wake up anytime soon due to the severity of her coma. " she said touching my shoulder.

her sentence actually stung a bit, " umm, no im fine. " i said trying my hardest not to snap at her.

she just nodded and left.

i decided after she left that i should atleast go home to change and shower.

i called Nash.

" hey, what's up? " nash said sounding concerned.

" um, nothing. just can you come pick me up? " i said.

minutes later nash came to the door, " lets go. " he said.

i grabbed my jacket and started walking out into the hallway.

" Mr. Dallas, i was hoping i could have a word with you. " Doctor Smith said.

i nodded because the sound of urgency in his voice.

" uh sure, but Nash can hear its fine with me . " i said.

the doctor looked at nash for a split second then said .

" your girlfriends parents are discussing the possibility of 'pulling the plug' " the doctor said looking me dead in the eye, " i just thought you should know. "

i fell back against the wall loosing my balance

" how could they even consider that, it shouldn't even be a possibility! " nash said yelling at the doctor.

i could barely hear what nash was actually saying, i was lost in my own mind.

how could they? its only been a week.

so many questions were running through my head.

i stood up and looked at the doctor grabbing his attention, " when. " was all i could make out.

" tomorrow morning. " he said.

" thank you. " i mumbled.

" cam.." nash said reaching out to hug me.

i put my hand up signaling him to stop and turned around to walk back into her room .

i stood at the foot of her hospital bed just looking at her flashing back on everything we had been through.

i walked to her bedside and reached out to grab her hand.

all i could think was how could they?

i climbed up onto her bed and curled into her side and drifted to sleep with tears soaking her pillow.

NEXT MORNING:

i woke up still feeling exhausted and looked up at the clock that read 9:08 AM.

i rolled over to my side and realized i was in a different room everything from yesterday flooded to my head reminding me what happened the day before.

i jumped up out of bed and ran to a nurse who seemed to recognize me.

" down the hall to the left " she muttered .

i ran running into random people, nurses even doctors.

i burst through the door of her room.

the doctors were standing over her body which looked so lifeless.

" please let me say goodbye. " i said choking back tears.

the doctor nodded in my directions and signaled for the rest of the nurses to follow him out.

i walked over and pulled the chair to her bedside.

"kaity, the second i saw you i instantly fell in love with you. " i began, " everything we've been through i wouldnt trade it for anything. & to think that im about to loose you feels like im loosing a piece of myself. i just cant even begin to imagine a day where im not waking up to your smile.. i cant even imagine a world without you. "

i couldnt think of anything else to say, " i love you more than anything in this entire world, please dont leave me. "

i laid my head on her stomach and soaked the blanket that was being used to cover her body.

KAITYS POV

my head began to pound and the light that was filling the room made it even worse.

i cracked my eyes open and could feel a pressure on my stomach.

"... please dont leave me." i vaguely heard cameron whisper through tears.

i paused and took a deep breath, " cameron?.. "

i felt his head shoot up, " kaity!" he said in disbelief.

" i promise you, " i coughed some more, " i promise you that i will never leave you.. "

i felt him pull my weak body into his arms, he wrapped his arms around my body and basically squeezed the remaining life out of me.

" nurse! " i heard cameron yell, " shes awake!"
