Tears roll down her face, and the girl wipes them back, sniffling, until 15 minutes pass and she notices her eyes now flushed red at the corners and her nose now light crimson. She sighs and wishes her crying didn't show so easily before exiting the bathroom.
The female quickly composed herself and rushed back to Ganyu. "Hello? Keqing, you good now? What happened?" asks a concerned Ganyu. "My internet cut out, I'm so sorry Yu! But I did hear what you just said, and congratulations! I'm super happy for you and Beidou," giggles Keqing. "Hehe, thank you Qing, I knew you'd be happy for me!" exclaims Ganyu, before a lengthy yawn escapes the qilin's mouth. "Pfft, you sound tired. Go ahead and have a good rest," says Keqing. "I will!" says Ganyu, as she ends the call.
The second the call disappears, tears tumble down her face again, and Keqing grits her teeth. She keeps rubbing at her eyes, but that in turn makes them incredibly sore, and so now it just hurts. She brushes her teeth, and quickly throws her hair into a messy bun, securing it with a hairtie, before turning off the lights and collapsing into bed.
God, I hate Beidou.
I wish... she'd move away and get out of Ganyu's fucking life.
These were the final words that Keqing thought of before sleep overcame the girl and she fell asleep.
The next day, she was awoken by her mother, who frantically exclaims, "Keqing, you're late for school!"
Keqing strips off her sheets at breakneck speed, quickly washing her face and donning her uniform, before shoving a sandwich and fruit into her lunchbox and heading out. She climbed her bike and rode it quickly, until she reached school.
Mr Zhongli, their class teacher, smiled when he saw the lavender - haired girl appear at the door, puffing, clearly out of breath. "Ah, Keqing, lovely to see you join us. No worries, you're only 10 minutes late," he smiles.
She nods gratefully and goes to join Ganyu, collapsing in a heap as she tosses her bag on the ground. "Whoa, Qing, you're never late! What happened?" asked the adeptus, curious. "Not really sure, I guess I just didn't have a good night's sleep," she mutters. "How strange... you've never been late. It must've been really bad, huh? What kept you up, Keqing?" asks Ganyu, leaning closer to Keqing. She gets flustered at this and turns her head, before whispering, "It's a secret."
"Hey, didn't we promise for no secrets! Ooo, come on Qing!" says Ganyu, annoyed. Keqing is mustering up all her strength to reject the qilin's adorable pouty face before winking. "Nope~" giggles Keqing. "Hmph!" pouts Ganyu. "Oh, you," says Keqing, pinching her cheek lightly and laughing.
They head to their classes for the day. Business, Physics, Double Art, Math and Chinese, with two breaks as well. Keqing spots their usual table, where Xingqiu, Chongyun and Xiangling are seated. "Good afternoon, Keqing," says Xingqiu politely, and before Keqing could respond, an absolutely delicious aroma was coming from Xiangling.
All four of them turned to look at the chef who chuckles as she pulls out a large lunchbox. She opens it and the smell wafted across their table, Ganyu already drooling, before quickly wiping her face and sitting down. "Ta-Da! My newest creation, Matsutake Meat Rolls!" exclaims Xiangling, as she grabs chopsticks and places a single Meat Roll in everyone's lunch box, even Ganyu's, not giving any mind to her protests.
"Ganyu, I get you're concerned about your weight, but if you don't eat that, I am going to not bring my amazing food again, only fruit! Also, yours are made specially vegetarian, so don't worry!" shouts Xiangling. "F-Fine," mutters the adeptus, before blowing on her Roll and taking a bite. Almost immediately, her face turns to an expression of contentment and delight. "Hehe, see what I mean? Food is everything!" giggles Xiangling, placing one more in Ganyu's lunchbox, as the girl devours it. Keqing smiles at Ganyu's antics and decides to try Xiangling's new dish for herself. She takes a bite, and the flavours burst in her mouth.
The aromatic juices of the meat overwhelm her with a fresh new taste, and once she's finished with it, the food just leaves her wanting more. She nudges Xiangling, who promptly drops two more Rolls onto her plate, to which Keqing gratefully thanks her.
"Ling... how pyou even manae to come up wih suh goo food I will never understad," mutters Chongyun. "What he means to say is, 'Ling, how you even manage to come up with such good food I will never understand,' sorry about that," chortles Xingqiu. "No worries, I made it as spice - free as I possibly could, but just a little won't be an issue for his whole yang energy thingamajig," says Xiangling in a rush.
"Thanks, I appreciate that," smiles Chongyun. "Enjoy it for now - my next dish is going to be chock - full of spice!" giggles the girl, clapping her hands together. Chongyun sighs and he gets to his own lunch. He quietly chews as Xingqiu reads a book.
"Yuuu, can you give me a piece of orange?" asks Keqing. "Sure!' replies the qilin. "Aah~" says Keqing, opening her mouth and waiting before, to her surprise, Ganyu pops an orange in and Keqing chews, surprised.

Ganyu looked over at her phone, and Xiao's name flashed on the screen. She opened her dms to a panicking Xiao.
