It was all over now; They had lost, and Naruto was now succumbing to the result of the war. It smelled of death, and she only had enough chakra to last her a few hours at most. The battle was long and gory, she watched as her teammates dropped like flies. With each death was a promise for revenge, but it seemed that promise was never obtainable.

Empty promises and weak tears littered the battle field, accompanied by layers of blood. What was once her beautiful, yet unforgiving village Konohagakure, was now run down to rubble and dust. All of the bonds she spent her seventeen years making lay under the buildings of her destroyed home. The oath to save her comrades from death dead on her lips, her eyes were extremely heavy.

She was tired, who wouldn't be? After fighting for days at a time, witnessing death more times than she'd felt actual joy. Even Kurama was tired, after bringing her back from the brink of death so many times. Naruto laid down, her eyes searching for the sun. No, she hadn't seen the sun in days. This world was doomed and there was nothing she could do about it.

"Uzumaki.." Naruto ignored him, closing her eyes. The feeling was enticing actually, being kissed by death. She could feel her life force being taken awa- "Uzumaki! I won't have this ignorance, we're going back!" "Kurama.. I'm sorry, I should've set you free when I had the chakra for it, but it's over now.." Kurama growled deeply, his patience growing short. "Get the fuck up you pathetic woman! If you don't listen to me I'm going to rip you to shreds!" Naruto snorted, finding amusement even on her death bed, or death ground.

"What is it Kurama, what could be so important that you deprive me of peace even when I'm dying?"

"I can send us back. Back to when there was peace! Back to when things didn't start going wrong! Before that useless yondaime died!" Naruto froze, her breath hitched. "Kurama.. what are you talking about? Why didn't you mention this sooner?" Kurama merely resisted the urge to roll his eyes. He was a divine beast, damn it!

At his silence, Naruto's eyebrows furrowed. "Kurama, I've had enough of your bullshit."

"It's not bullshit! Listen to me, muster up all the chakra your puny body can get. We're going back, we can't die here!"

Naruto sighed, closing her eyes again, and rose up into a meditative position. She gathered all the chakra she could, before the Kyuubi spoke again.

"Look kid, I'm going to be gone for some time after we go back. And I can't estimate what timeline you will be going to, just don't do anything stupid."

Naruto snorted again, it seemed like everything she did was stupid. Hell, look where she was right now. She paused in thought, her eyes widening. "Wait, what do you mean you won't be there with me?! How will I-" she was cut off as a blinding light took over the sky. The ground was shaking, and she was scared. So scared she might have shit herself.

Soon, the light overcame everything but her, and she felt her every fiber being ripped and mashed into several pieces. She screamed, but to no avail. The pain was endless, like multiple needles being stabbed into her flesh. Color, she was finally seeing color after all the blinding light. Fuck, she was going to kill Kurama for this shit.

It seemed as if her fall was never ending, until it ended. She hit the ground with a loud thud. Naruto looked at her hands, and they were peculiarly small. That worried her, but she had other things to worry about. She seemed to have fallen right behind the hokage's tower, and conveniently right infront of a shop merchant.

Naruto grabbed onto the man's sleeve. "S-sir what year is it?!"

"629, why? And hey, why are you grabbing onto me like that? You young people show no respect.. none." The man smacked his lips before getting away from Naruto, assuming she was crazy. And Naruto, she did the only thing she could do. She promptly passed out, she couldn't help it, she really couldn't!
