A/N: Another update, a day after the last one? Well, I had a spark of inspiration that blew up like a wildfire, so I'm giving you another chapter!
Don't expect daily updates though, cause I only write when I have an idea. Makes my schedule inconsistent...
Anyway, enjoy the chapter!
It was a couple of hours going down that road when I finally arrived at a city that I saw in the distance.
It made me realize just how strong this body was as I was able to run the entire way, with only a few breaks of jogging in between.
It was kind of like the stamina system in Genshin? You know, sprint 'till you can't, jog until you recover, then sprint again?
Putting it that way, all playable Genshin characters have some very durable bodies...
I couldn't even run for 5 minutes before, never mind hours at a time.
Anyway, I was walking down the road when I saw houses and other buildings show up in the distance, so I started running towards them.
Along the way, I had run across a Walmart. From the doors, I could swear I saw a flash of red hair, but I dismissed it as a hallucination. I had passed a stoplight by the time I had processed the thought.
Slowing down to a walk, I walked on the sidewalk and took in my surroundings.
There was a large plain on my left with a residential area on my right. It all looked so familiar...
Wait a minute... could it be?
This looked like... my hometown?
I ran forwards a little bit to another stoplight, and on my right I saw a familiar plaza that had a gym.
I remembered an old friend who would randomly recite stanzas from "The Raven." He was weird. Brady was his name. I wonder what happened to him?
Anyway, I maneuvered through the familiar streets until I had eventually settled outside of an old home that was easily recognizable due to the old winter decals on the window.
I walked up to the window and looked through the blinds that covered it.
Inside, I saw my old desk and monitor, the PC tower still blinking its red light showing that it was only sleeping.
Shaking my head, I walked away from the house I used to live in.
Stepping back onto the sidewalk, I looked around to check if someone had seen my weird stalker-like actions, and relieved that no one did, I headed to the Walmart I had passed earlier.
I need casual clothes after all... I'm still in the clothes I arrived here in-
2 hours later...
(A/N: Once again, do not own...(Also, just Beidou... for now *ahem*))
I exited Walmart with some fresh clothes. Usually I'd wash them before putting it on, but I don't wanna look weird...
Besides, I have nowhere to stay. Maybe I should look into that?
I'll look into it eventually, but for now I'll just sleep in a tree or something.
"Hey!" I heard a random voice come from behind me. "You look like a character from a game!"
I turned around to look at the person that said such a random thing.
"Oh? Who do I look like?" I asked the male who was walking towards me.
"Uh, she's a character from a game called Genshin Impact," he said while scratching the back of his head nervously. "Come to think of it, you sound a lot like her too..."
"So... who is she?" I asked him again.
"Ah!" he exclaimed. "Her name is Beidou. She's got an eyepatch on her left eye just like you do! Also, your hairstyle is really similar to hers."
"Hmm, what a coincidence," I said with a small smirk. "It just so happens that my name is Beidou as well."
"Woah, really?" he asked shocked. But that soon shifted to a suspicious stare. "Are you sure you aren't just some kind of cosplayer?"
My eyebrow twitched a little at this.
"Do you want me to shock you?" I asked with a sweet smile. "Maybe that'll convince you that I'm not a cosplayer."
"How does that work?" he asked slightly confused. "But no, please don't shock me!" he shouted while waving his hands a little.
"sigh Alright, but what's your name?" I asked him.
"Right! My name is Adrian, but most people just call me AJ," the now identified as AJ said.
"Nice to meet you, AJ," I said to him with a small smile.
"Nice to meet you too Miss Beidou," he replied with a smile. "Ah, the reason I approached you was because a friend of mine recently passed away." His smile dimmed slightly. "She really admired Beidou and her backstory, so knowing that there is someone who not only looks but sounds like her favorite character is amazing. It's just sad that she wasn't here to meet you as well."
"Yeah..."
"Well, sorry for loading all that onto you," AJ said while his smile returned back to normal.
"No, it's alright. I would have loved to meet your friend as well."
"Well, I should be off," said AJ, breaking the silence that settled around us for a moment. "I have another friend waiting for me."
"Alright, have fun with your friend," I replied.
At that, we both parted ways.
"AJ, huh? I used to have a friend with that name..." I thought to myself. "Maybe this world isn't so different after all."
Of course it had to be just as I thought that when a blue portal appeared in front of me.
I, being stuck in my thoughts at the time, walked through it on accident.
By the time I had processed walking through the portal, I had appeared in a small cave.
Looking around I analyzed my new surroundings.
"Where am I now?" was my only thought before I was attacked.
A/N: So, we've found civilization and a familiar face has appeared.
Of course, to people who don't know who AJ is, you can assume that he was a friend of the MC before she died. Also, he's a character from another story that you don't have to read. (Please don't, it's a bad story and really cringe)
If this wasn't the lucky encounter you envisioned, then I'm sorry, but I had to add him in somewhere.
Well, now we've been transported to a new place through a strange portal that appeared out of nowhere.
Wonder what'll happen in this new place?
We'll just have to see in the next chapter!
Akari out!
