My life all started as a young little petite girl that had a silver spoon. Living conditions back then was harsh and many were poverty-stricken but fortunately, everything for my family revolved around the world as soon as my intellectual father invented an eco-friendly gadget that could put a dent in the universe.
I am a perpetual little girl that sees no point in pathetic education. Education to me is like a burden, a useless thing that I have to pass in life pitifully. Thinking more about it just makes me feel as though I am escalating a problem for myself. I just can accept the fact that I have to put up with my foolish step mother because of the packed working schedule that my assiduous father had.
My step mother's personality just sucks. She always makes mountain out of molehills and also manipulate me for her own benefit. I just basically hate her.
"Arghhh... Why must I attend school? It's so lame!" I asked in despair
"Why must you attend school? Why must you attend school? Because if you don't attend school, then you would as stupid as a cow!" she retorted.
Arguing with her was a waste of time so I decided to ignore her gibberish blabbering and continue with my daze in my own world.
Days passed in a blink of an eye and I had to attend school. Teacher asked what's my name and I answered her in a monotonous tone, with a dagger stare and a frown on the face. I was just instantly irritated by her annoying voice. The only thing in my mind was the shopping mall. Home and school is like a place that I wished never existed.
Classmates were just a heck of a day. Many plagiarise information from the Internet and charlatans too. But I saw one person that seems to be cool - Betty. She was one that smokes, one that's pretty, one that breaks the rules and the one that ROCKS!
"Hi" I told Betty in a polite manner.
"What do you want shortie pie?" she asked me in a rude manner as she looked down to me.
"I was just wandering if you could be my friend." I muffled in a low voice.
"Sure you can be my friend but you first have to accomplish this task that I am going to impose to you. Haha! Let's see if you meet up to my criteria." she replied me with a tone of sarcasm.
"No problem! Bring it on!" I was jumping for joy as I was exhilarated.
"Ok...sure. I would like you to be the head of the student council. People such as this that has high authority vested in them is worthy enough to be my friend." she uttered.
Without much hesitation, I went for an interview to qualify myself if I am worthy enough to be a head councillor. Not long after, I was informed of the good news and was delivering my speech to the school tomorrow.
"Friends, the future is bleak, the students are weak! Your heads are just mere boxes. Boxes containing facts, opinions, nonsense. But vote for me and all your wants would be fulfilled. Your dreams will be my dreams. In fact, I would be so good that I can dream for you and free you from dreaming. Vote for power, happiness and stability!" I delivered my convincing speech with a grin on my face and a tone of self-confidence.
Being a head councillor was a privilege for me. Being able to stand in front of the whole school and announcing was just too good for me to face up to reality. But the only thing in my mind was to rise to power and also not forgetting my beloved Betty.
"Hi Betty! So are we friends now?" I asked excitedly.
"Wait, Betty, are you seriously establishing ties with that vain girl? you will regret your choice. Choices have consequences." Betty's friends whispered to her in a low voice
"I don't think I know you! Anyways just get lost!" she replied.
I lowered my head and walked out of the cafeteria, with no mood. Everyone seems to ignore me and avoid me. Whenever I walked towards them, I feel as though there is a strong sense of hatred between us.
I walked back home nonchalantly,in a wrong frame of mind. As soon as I reached my intended destination, I just took my step mother as an invisible woman and locked myself in the room, encapsulated. I looked out of the window, admiring the picturesque environment and the flowers that are of a myriad of colours. I can hear the living things whispering to me in a low voice, "Look for the right path and walk that direction. Believe in yourself and I am sure things would be just the way you want it to be. Live life to the fullest."
A candle just lit up...
