7 - Revelations

"Hey everyone! I am Ash Ketchum, a 17 year old boy from Pallet Town! Many of you know me from TV, others are my dear and loyal friends, and some are celebrities such as myself!" That line earned a giggle from a few. "However, today, I won't be talking about our friendships or even my life story. In fact, I will talk about something nobody knows a lot about. The bond phenomenon!" Goh and Chloe looked at each other in confusion, they had never heard about the bond phenomenon, but based on the applaud Ash wound up getting, they assumed it was pretty popular.

"Yeah! I know you're interested Professor Sycamore!" Ash laughed, pointing over at his old friend. "You see, I own a Pokemon that is capable of mega evolving in a way that is not natural. It actually can't mega evolve, which makes this story even more compelling. When Greninja and I sync our hearts together, we develop something called a telepathic render. This allows us to see what each other see, hear what the other hears. It is similar to the aura Lucario emits, which allows trainers to communicate with their Pokemon over long distances..." It is now that Ash starts his first slide by pressing a button on the remote.

The screen above the boy displayed an image of a Greninja, next to that another image of DNA and some text. "I had been interested about this event ever since it first occurred when my Frogadier evolved, and was finally able to do the research as I basically live in Cerise Laboratory with my friend Goh."

Goh's face lit up and people surrounding him smiled.

"Of course, I couldn't complete proper tests without revealing my topic to anyone, so I adapted my lifestyle allowing me to wake up at 3:30. This allowed me to run all the research about Greninja's specified characteristics without ruining my secret."

Professor Cerise, Crysa, Ren, Chloe and Goh were all shocked as Ash rambled on about how he had completed so much research in just 3 days, and had still kept every bit a secret from them. Chloe specifically couldn't believe that the hyper-active, Pokemon addicted trainer could work so hard on something. Ash then changed slides again showing a picture of Pikachu holding a petri-dish containing some orange/red liquid. Next to this picture was some text referencing normal Pokemon genetics, and how they changed throughout different species.

"As you can see above me, normal Greninja DNA contains only 1 stem monohybrid, whilst my Greninja contains a triple chain. This implicates that my Greninja's genome for that characteristic is tripled. Most of you might think that this would be unhealthy, even dangerous, however this simply enhances a Pokemon's maximum energy they can put into their personality." Ash started to pace back and forth whilst changing slides to a paused video.

"After a few hours, I put this video together explaining how I came up with this theory!" He said as he pointed the remote at the TV and played it.

The video began by replaying Professor Sycamore's footage on the Froakie at his lab. It showed Ash's Froakie isolating itself from the rest, training it's combat skills daily.

"Here, you can see my Froakie training independently, purely based on its own free will. At this time, the Pokemon had disagreed with all previous trainers, and had run back here, to Sycamore Laboratory every time it was chosen by a young child." Ash explained.

"It appears that this Froakie decided to provoke its potential and push all it's energy into combat and mind. It developed these 2 characteristics to heights only legendaries could match, and chose me as its trainer."

As this point in the presentation, Ash was sure that he would be losing attention from most of the audience, however, every single person was hooked on his story.

The video then changed to the Ultra Guardian Lair, and showed Lunala healing in the restoration cylinder.

"The way I found out that Legendaries also have exactly 3 stem monohybrids is that we aided Lunala in Alola. It got badly wounded and we healed it to full strength, however I also decided to run some tests.
