Junior Year : Day 27
Lassly's P.O.V
“Why didn’t you wait for me yesterday?” Chase asked, nudging me with his elbow. I hit him back. “I was busy.”
He raised his eyebrows. “Busy with your boyfriend?”
“He’s not my boyfriend,” I mumbled. Chase grinned. “Lassly and Caden sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First comes the love, then comes the marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage!”
I rolled my eyes. “Is that how the song really goes?”
Chase shrugged. “Stop trying to change the topic,” he said quickly. “Just tell me what’s going on between you two.”
“I told you, we’re just friends.” I didn’t know why he was making such a big deal out of it anyways. Just because Josh and his friends spread out a stupid rumor doesn’t make us ‘more than friends.’
“Lassly, he’s over there. Go talk to me,” Chase said, literally shoving me away.
“Alright, alright, I’m going,” I mumbled. I saw Chase grin again. “Hope you have a good time talking to your boyfriend.”
I rolled my eyes and started walking towards Caden. “Hey Cad,” I said slowly. He grinned. “Hey Lassly, how was school?”
I shrugged. “Pretty good, I guess.”
Caden smiled. “Long day, huh?”
I nodded. Of course it was a long day. Everyday seems to be long nowadays.
“Caden!” a loud voice said, startling me from my thoughts. I turned around to see a girl with honey brown hair. She had green eyes. I’ll admit it; she totally looked like a Victoria’s Secret model.
I looked over at Caden who glanced at me and shrugged. “Um, who are you?” I asked softly.
“Oh didn’t he tell you?”
I stared at Caden again who was refusing to meet my gaze. “No.”
“I’m Drew, Caden’s girlfriend. You’re Lassly, right? He talks about you all the time. Thanks for being there for him,” she said giving me an award winning smile.
My eye twitched. Caden had a girlfriend? Why did that tear me apart? Why didn’t that sound right? “No problem,” I mumbled. Drew looked at me. “Caden, my dad approved. Remember how I told you my dad had to choose between me and his job. He chose me and this is what I chose.”
She went up to Caden and kissed him on the cheeks. “Is something wrong?” she asked.
Caden gave her a smile. “Nothing’s wrong. I’m glad you’re here Drew.”
“I’ll leave you guys to it,” I said, smiling at Drew. Sure I didn’t smile as pretty as her but it was a nice thing to do, right?
I walked away from them, heading towards the gate of the school. “Check this out,” a girl shouted pointing at me. Her group of friends laughed. “It’s the slut from the poster.”
“Excuse me?” I asked, defending myself.
A girl handed me a poster. I stared at it.
“Looks like there’s a new slut in town,” another girl shouted giving me a smirk. I heard snickers behind my back. My eyes started getting watery. I quickly turned around and started to run. Before I got far, I felt warm protective arms around me.
