you look pretty today (as u do everyday) <3
george held the note in his hand and blushed.
he hates to admit it, but george had started to grow a liking to getting these notes everyday.
which is why he'd throw away every single one.
he was so convinced that it was a prank and he knew that if he started to show any sort of excitement from these notes, his spirt would be crushed when the person who was making them revealed themselves and admitted to trolling him.
why was he so convinced that this was all a prank? because it wouldn't be the first time someone had done something like this before.
george came out his 8th grade year and didn't try to hide it. he wouldn't say he had much pride for who he was, but he knew he couldn't change himself so he never tried to hide his real self.
when the word that george was queer started to spread, nobody seemed to be bothered by it.
but of course, there was always those few people who would give him ugly looks, whisper unkind comments to their friends about him, or laugh right in his face when he'd try to express himself.
some days he'd dress very feminine, some days he'd dress masculine. some days he'd wear small bows in his hair and dress in skirts and lace. other days he'd wear chains and leather.
sometimes he'd get compliments from his peers, but as stated before, sometimes he'd get insults.
during his freshman year, a boy named tyler started to show interest in the small boy.
tyler was great. he'd compliment george, invite him to parties, hang out with him and much more.
but that was only when they were alone.
dream didnt like tyler the second he met him. and his disliking towards him only grew stronger when he realized tyler only acted nice to george in private.
sapnap soon caught on to this too and would try to talk to george about it, but george was so whipped for tyler that he never listened.
"i don't know about him george," sapnap said, "he acts so different when you guys are around other people..."
"he's just not really out like me yet," george replied, "trust me, he's amazing."
that was until tyler invited george to a sleepover at his house with a couple of friends.
george was super excited because tyler usually didnt let george be around him when he was with his friends, but he was glad that it was starting to change.
dream tried to tag along (just in case), but tyler said he couldn't have anymore people over.
let's just say george didn't end up spending the night at all.
tyler completely humiliated george in front of his friends and admitted that it was all a bet.
"wait he for real thinks you like him?"
"ew he actually showed up! man tyler, what'd you do to get him to actually like you?"
"it was so easy dude, but i'll never do that again. i did it though, so give me it."
a guy in a dark blue shirt handed tyler a hundred dollar bill and started laughing.
"w-wait what?" george said. his face was red from embarrassment and he felt his throat starting to hurt.
tyler sighed, trying to hold in his laughter, "yeah. sorry george but this was just a deal i made with some of my buddies. i just need some easy money. you can leave already though... i don't know why you're still here." his friends bursted out laughing.
george quickly got his things and practically ran out tyler's house.
he made his way to dream's house and was comforted by dream as he told him everything.
dream's heart ached seeing george cry. he called sapnap to come over and they all had a sleepover. they both tried to make george feel better the whole night. although he was still deeply hurt, he was happy that his friends were trying their best to cheer him up.
they were all now juniors and george had already moved on passed all that.
but after that, you think george wouldn't be so cautious about who showed any sort of interest in him?
he tried to remind himself about the past every time he received a note to avoid any history repeating itself.
he sighed and crumbled the paper again and shoved it in his pocket while closing his locker.
"what was that?" he heard a familiar voice behind him.
he turned to see dream. "oh just another dumb note." he mumbled.
"oh? why was it dumb?" dream said, trying to not seem hurt by the sight of the crumbled paper as george pulled it out of his pocket.
"it's just a joke. they don't mean anything," george said while walking up to a trash can and throwing it away, "id wish they'd stop. it's getting annoying."
"oh." was all dream said.
george raised an eyebrow at dream, confused by his response, but shrugged it off and walked back to his locker.
"where's sapnap?" he asked.
"he has basketball practice, remember? the season is starting soon." dream answered.
he recalled sapnap telling them about it on saturday when they all hung out, but george never really payed attention.
they walked to dream's car and got in. dream put his backpack in the back seat along with george's. "wanna come over?" he asked.
goerge nodded, "yeah, what do you wanna do?"
dream shrugged and turned on the car, "whatever is fine with me. we'll figure it out when we get there."
george nodded and grabbed the aux and put on a song to listen to during the short ride to dream's house.
