[March 20, 1983]
First, small movements he made, and his whole body was in pain because of it, it feels weird, Pietro thought because he was still alive, Second, he tried to open his eyes, slowly and carefully if the light from outside made his eyes suddenly hurt.
His eyes searched for something he didn't know, he was confused. And then he tried to look at his feet because he felt strange, it hurt but also felt numb.
"Oh no, you don't" A familiar voice, it was Erik, he closed his book and got up from his chair when he realized Pietro was awake and trying to do silly things that would only make things worse.
Charles was also there, just like Erik, he asked Pietro not to force himself to move
"Don't move," Erik grabbed Pietro's shoulders, as he pushed himself into a sitting position.
"Don't be stubborn for now, listen to your father," Charles added.
Pietro put his head back on the pillow when sudden dizziness hit him.
"How long?" Pietro whispered.
"It's been more than two weeks since Cairo," Erik tells him.
"H-How? Is that--"
"He's gone, we won, whatever you want to call it" Erik cut in.
"Am I..."
"In Genosha? Yes..." Erik tucked his son's hair back so that no bangs fell to his forehead or eyes.
"I'm home"
Erik and Charles exchanged glances, showing various emotions and feelings of relief. They missed Pietro.
Charles put his fingers on Pietro's cheek, stroked it, and their gazes met.
"You scared us, Pietro," said Charles.
"I could lose you again, I just got you, it's not fair" Erik looked at his son hard.
Pietro looked at his father "Sorry" he said "For everything"
His brows furrowed, whether it was because of his emotions or because he was trying to endure the pain in his chest.
"Two years ago, you made a stupid-hasty decision, you left us and when you came back you tried to destroy the world, young man! I don't think the word 'sorry' is enough to cover it up," Erik said with a hint of anger, so Charles glared at him.
Pietro looked desperate, his brows furrowed again, as he closed his eyes, this time his chest really hurt. But he tried not to groan.
"Pietro? What is it? What's wrong?" Erik asked, worried.
"No, it's just--I'm okay...." He said, but the older mutants couldn't believe it because they knew full well that Pietro was lying.
"I'll call Hank, okay?" Charles said, telepathically calling for Hank.
