Kaiba's POV
" Come on, Kaiba! You can't work all day!" Joey whined, sitting on my desk." Actually I can and I have to, puppy. Go do something else other than bother me. I have to get this work done, even if it is a nice day." I explained. The sun fell through the skylight onto my desk and the large windows gave full view of the blue expanse of sky with the large blazing sun. I sighed. It would be nice to go outside, I suppose but I have so much work to do.
Joey looked out the window, sadly. His blonde hair looked so soft, with the sun shining on it. He looked like such a little kid, staring out the window in that hopeful way. I really want to touch his hair, and stare at his big, nut brown eyes. I would love to walk around town with him or go to the park. I turn back to my screen, confronted once again with the seemingly endless work I had to do.
" KAiiiiiba?!?!" He yelled from his place by the window. I painfully ignored him, hoping that we spend the evening together. Joey got up and I guessed he was going off to sulk or do something else to take his mind off me. He suddenly jumped onto my desk."J-Joey, what the hell! Get off, you'll mess my stuff up." I said, worried he would crumple the oh so important paper work. He grinned cheekily and started to roll about on the desk, smashing through the piles of paper. I grab my laptop and clutch it to my chest, fearing that he would knock it off and it would break. He sits up, paper sticking to his back and smiles at me, sitting in the chaotic mass of wrecked, ripped paper and escaped biro pens.
"Puppy! That took me ages. This is going to set me back so much!" I yelled. Joey continued to smile dumbly at me then jump down off the desk. He grabbed my hand.
" Now that I've distracted you from your work, we can spend some time together outside. Come one, let's go out into the garden." He said cheerfully. I sighed and looked at my wayward boyfriend. He grinned and started to lead me out and down the spiral staircase. He was looking deeply into my eyes, searching for a slight hint of something.
The grounds looked so calm. Just a sea of green grass and exotic flower borders. The grass was spotted with small white daisies. Daisies are so common and simple, just a yellow centre and white petals. Joey is like a daisy, pretty, dainty and blonde. He smiles and sits down on the grass. I glare at him. No way am I sitting on the grass. It's dirty and I don't want grass stains on my white coat.
Joey looks at me and pats the spot next to him.
"No." I say, I think he knows why I don't want to sit down.
Joey smiles.
"I'm Seto Kaiba and I don't wanna break my precious long nails. I don't wanna any dirt particles getting on my gizzillion pound coat. Ohh I'm such a diva." Joey says, in a female voice.
"Fine, fine." I say grumpily, giving in to his pleas. Joey grabs my arm and pulls me down. I fall ungracefully upon my face. Joey is laughing his head off and he takes out his phone and takes a picture. I pick my self off the ground and glare at him.
" Delete that..." I stated. I think the reason for this was obvious; I don't want a picture of myself looking stupid on puppy's phone. He grins at me and flashes his phone at me. Oh. My. God. He has set it as his wallpaper. I grow bright red and growl at him. He continues to giggle. Oh Joey, you are so immature. He continues laughing for ages while I sit and stare at him displeasingly.
" What Ya looking at Kaiba? Like my background. I am so putting this on Instagram." He says this mischievously. I groan. I am never going to forget that, am I.
I look about myself. So many bloody daisies.
" This lawn needs cut." I mumble to myself. Joey stops laughing and looks about.
" No. It looks nice with daisies on it. Plus I know a fun thing to do with daisies." He said, pocketing his phone. He picked lots of daisies and put them in a pile. He then started knotting the stalks together.
"What the hell are you doing?" I said. Puppy was sitting there, making a daisy chain like a little girl. I have to admit, his concentrating face is adorable. He continues to skilfully knot the stalks together, his finger moving quickly like spiders. Every soften he pauses and looks at his work so far. For some reason I am transfixed by this. I-I don't know why but he looks so amazingly young and innocent.
"Where did you learn to do that?" I asked, my curiosity breaking the silence. Joey doesn't look up.
"Serenity taught me ages ago. We used to make daisy chains in the park." He said, a glimmer of sadness and nostalgia hitting his face. I could read his mind. He was thinking about Serenity. He missed her. He always talked about her so softly, as if he didn't want anyone else to here.
He made one long chain then knotted the ends together.
"Close Ya eyes."
"What?"
"I said close Ya eyes, Kaiba."
I reluctantly closed my eyes and placed my face in my hands. I heard Joey creep up next to me and felt his slim, gentle fingers on my head. I wonder what he was doing?
" You can open your eyes now." Joey was once again in front of me, when I opened my eyes. I was uncertain what the change was but I put my hand to my head and felt something. I pulled it gently down and saw what it was. A crown made of a daisy chain. I felt a little foolish wearing it but there was no one around other than Joey to see me. He was smiling at me.
"Can you teach me how to make one?" I asked. He nodded.
After being taught how to knot the stems, I started on my own daisy chain. It went a bit funny in places, certain parts sticking out at funny angles. I joined the ends together. I had made Joey a daisy crown.
"Close your eyes, Puppy.."
I placed the daisy crown on his head. He grinned at me and we hugged each other.
"My daisy king.." He said into my shoulder.
"My daisy prince.." I murmured into his hair.
