Prologue

Jisung's POV

I turned off the lights and locked the doors before heading home. It was 1 a.m now and I had to go home faster today as I have an early class at 6 a.m. Leaving me less than 5 hours of sleep.

I blew a breath in my hands as the chilly night was starting to freeze me. I turned to a dark alley which was my shortcut. It's eerie? Yes. Suspicious? Yes, but never once have I seen anyone killing, dead, fighting, kidnapped or anything of the sort. More like, the only ones always here are me, an old man, who most of the time sleeps, and some strays. But today, the alley felt somewhat more silent, giving me goosebumps. Then I realized, the usual old man isn't here. An old (not too old) blood pool was resting on the old man's usual place. I felt my breath hitch, pulling out my hidden tail and ears. I crouched down in a pathetic attempt of calming myself down, clutching onto my chest and my bag strap, I inhaled and exhaled deep breaths.

After calming down, I stood up, heading to the darkest part of the alley. I walked slowly, warily, and alerted in every little sound my squirrel ears could hear.

After walking into the darkest part, I felt a presence behind me and quickly snapped my body to the presence. But I was too late, the person had their hand covering my nose with a cloth diluted in chloroform.

"Better hurry, boss won't be happy if we're late again" Another figure appeared before I closed my eyes and let myself be engulfed by the darkness.

"2 million!" "2.5 million!" "5 million!"

My sleep was disturbed my constant shouting and the burning feeling building up inside me. The feeling was very familiar but I can't put my finger on it. My body felt cold from the breeze but inside felt so hot.

I finally managed to open my eyes but regretted it. I recognize the place as an auction that I've seen in movies. They were wearing masks, I couldn't recognize them but I could feel their disgusting eyes on me, inspecting me from head to toe. I looked at my own body and quickly sat up to cover myself. I was wearing a see through skimpy dress that almost didn't cover my lower half. My ears and tail were still out.

(Felt super guilty searching for this and just imagine that Jisung is wearing this)

While covering myself, I felt a strong gaze from the cat masked man (the picture on the bottom) sitting in front of me with a smirk and interest in his eyes. Every second of his gaze pierced me, numbing the constant shouting as I felt my body getting hotter by the second. I finally knew what the heat and fidgety feeling was, it was my heat that shouldn't have come until next month.

"Last bid 9 million!"

I snapped back to reality and looked at the man, pleading him to save me.

"Any higher!? 1, 2,-"

"10 million!" another raised his hand. I felt my stomach dropped as it was not him.

"10 million! Going 1, 2-"

"20 million" the man raised his hands and for some reason I was glad.

"Any higher!? Going 1,2,3!!!! 20 million to the customer with the cat mask, you may take your prize in the back room" the auctioneer said.
