Time flies by when you're having fun. Tammy is 10, Andrew is 17. I'm so old. No, but Scott and I are so happy. I couldn't imagine a better life. My life wasn't so great until I met Scott. Now my life is amazing.

"Tammy! Come on honey, it's time for school!" I yelled up the stairs. Scott came in from starting the car and he placed a gentle kiss on my cheek, "Hi Scotty."

"Hi Mitchy. Tammy down here yet?"

"Of course not. She takes forever."

"I wonder who she gets that from." I slapped his arm playfully and gave him a glare.

"Whatever."

"I'll go get her." I watched as he went up the stairs. He came back down a few minutes later with a nod. Tammy came down after him carrying her backpack.

"Hi Daddy." I gave her a kiss on the cheek and Scott picked her up and we got in the car.

"Have a good day at school honey. Oh, and Andy will take you home today, okay?" I said, kneeling down in front of her.

"Yes daddy. I'll find him." I kissed her forehead, and Scott did too, before she ran into her class.

"Where is Andy?" Scott asked.

"I don't know. He asked to drive today."

"Oh. Well then."

"Don't take it personally. He has to get used to doing things on his own for college next year." Scott wrapped his arm over my shoulder as I let out a sigh. My kids are growing up and I'm not ready.

"Let's go home." He led me back to the car and drove me home.

I thought about life if I hadn't gotten that job. If I never met Scott. I would probably have been beaten more and then widowed after Joel died. He would've left me to raise Andrew by myself, not like I wasn't already, but I needed someone else there with me. A partner to help me along the way. And that's what I got from Scott. And I got Tammy, and Andy got good dads to be there for him.

I'm so happy with how my life turned out, I just wish it had gone much slower. But it is what it is. And I wouldn't trade it for anything.
