"Asra, a letter arrived."

Nag-angat ako ng tingin ng marinig ko na bumukas ang pintuan ng aking silid na nasundan ng isang boses na sinasabing mayroong letra na dumating para sa akin.

Nilingon ko ang pumasok sa aking silid, si Darwin. Dala-dala nito ang letra at ipinatong iyon sa aking lamesa.

"Kanino galing?" Tanong ko bago inabot ang letra. Mula pa lamang sa seal na naitatak sa puting sobre ay napag-alaman ko kaagad kung sino ang nag-padala sa akin ng sulat.

Bumuntong hininga ako.

"Si Avolea na naman ba?"

Hindi na ako umimik pa ng mag-tanong si Darwin. Alam kong dahil sa aking reaksyon ay alam na niya kaagad na ang nag-padala nga ng sulat saakin ay ang binaggit niyang pangalan, si Avolea.

Avolea Amber, the one and only daughter of the House of Amber. She's been bugging me for decades. Even I, lost the count of how many times she sent me a letter that turned out to be a marriage proposal. I refused so many times but she don't take my answer seriously so she still kept sending them. It's getting annoying.

"Odette," Tawag ko sa aking tagapag-silbi. Inabot ko sa kanya ang sobre mula kay Avolea.

"Hindi mo na binasa?" Tanong ni Darwin.

"Bakit ayaw mo ba kay Avolea? Subukan mo man lang. Hindi naman masama."

"Ikaw ang sumubok kung gusto mo."

"I'm just saying. Don't get me involve with your affairs," He shrugged, probably denying the thing he just suggest to me earlier.

"Anong ginagawa mo rito?" Diretsyo kong tanong sa kaibigan. Alam kong hindi lamang ito pumunta dito upang dalhin sa akin ang letra mula kay Avolea na sa malamang ay nakita niya sa front gate.

"Narinig mo na ba na humingi ng tulong ang pamilya ni Yesley paukol sa problema sa kanilang nasasakupan?" Dahil sa binuksang topic ni Darwin ay napa-ayos ako ng tayo. It seems interesting.

"Haven't heard of it. What happened?" I asked curiously.

"Unfortunately, their land is starving because of winter. The weather is colder than usual, their preys are freezing due to the unusual change of weather," He stated, I nodded, understanding the current situation of the Ivory's.

It is definitely a big deal for the other noble vampire families. The House of the Ivory is one of the powerful noble. Their land is located in the Northern Area of the vampire region. Apparently, the Vampire Region is ruled by the four powerful vampires. One of them is the Ivory, a strong family who rose up on the society like a skyrocket.

Some noble vampires who wanted the position of the Hues won't sit still. They would definitely make a move to throw the Ivory away from their position. It's alarming.

In the middle of my conversation with my friend, Darwin, a knock was heard on my room's door. My maid opened it for me when I gestured her to do so. Another house maid entered my room. I curiously looked at her.

"What brings you here?"

The vampire maid lowered herself.

"The Master has asked for your presence, young master."
