.

Sorry for the lengthy updates, guys. I was planning to release this chapter yesterday, but I had to sleep for tomorrow to take myself a vaccine shot to ensure my safety (I had to wait almost half a day to get it), but I hope you understand.

And another thing, I'll have to split this chapter into two parts, *since almost every single chapter contains 6K words.

Anyway, onwards with the chapter!

.

Short note-I recommend you drink water during the way, staying hydrated is important.

[Distant Sounds Of Yelling] [Distinct sounds of machinery]

I was in district four of Xarlsen, which according to the tips Sanches attached to the map he gave me yesterday, the district is about electronics and the military of Xarlsen.

The road I am in is somewhere in the supposed training grounds for the recruits for the Guardians, while the people around here wore robes and were approaching me at a fastened pace.

They barraged me with invites to their Guardians and offered me all kinds of necessities, I tried to politely decline them, but it all turned to shit when one of them shoved one Patron guy away, and soon it turned into a fight.

It all stopped when an authoritarian voice yelled at us for everyone to stop at what they're doing and quickly vacate from the area, leaving me alone in the road as I faced the voice who had saved me from the inevitable situation.

"Huh?" The moment I set my eyes on who possessed that said voice, I realized it was the woman I met at the monument yesterday - and easily towered me by a shoulders height and is now looking down at me like some kind of minority.

"Oh, it's you again." She said in malice, glaring at my eyes, "Hey, you're that girl from yesterday!" I pointed my index finger at her, glad for her for saving me from those Patrons, "Yes, and why are you here again, sir?" She tapped my forehead, slightly leaning into me to speak intimidatingly.

"Oh, nothing. I was exploring the district for something to entertain my boredom." I said to her, taking a step back for personal space, "Seriously? That is your reason?" She said, doubtful of my true intentions.

"Yes, plus I'm new to this place so. Care to give me a tour?" I said, raising my index finger near her face, "Psh, for what?" She huffed, crossing her arms, "In return, I won't interrupt you nor meet you in any way possible." I know she hates me, so she wants me out of her sight, so this deal must be beneficial to her, well, for her mind at least.

"Hmm..." She hesitated, contemplating at my irresistible deal, "... Fine, I'll accept it, but at one condition." She stated as I raised an eyebrow of mine in curiosity, "What's the condition?" I asked, wanting for this condition of hers to be revealed.

"Because my reputation in this city is as high as ever, I do not want you doing crimes or catch you doing something suspicious, or anything attention-grabbing, and..." Then, she leans closer to my ear, "I know you stole that ice cream, bastard." She whispered, sending chills down my spine.

But, what proof does she have?

I disregard her dark warning and did a simple, light-headed nod, "Mhmm, yeah," I said, walking back a little for personal space again, "Hmph, just follow me." She arrogantly said, turning around to resume her patrols as a Guardian.

"Oookay," I said, following her closely from behind, ignoring the Patrons offering me quote-unquote "Services" from the Guardians.
