Aleks POV
I was sat in the living room watching TV when there was a knock at the door. I got up, pausing the video and went to answer it.
"Aleks? You there?" a voice asked as I reached for the door handle. I froze and stared at the door. No, no, no. This can't be happening. He can't be here! No, no, no, no, NO! I ran up the stairs, not answering the door and slammed my bedroom door shut. I heard the front door creak open and footsteps start ascending the stairs. I dove under my bed in the hope that he would not see me and leave. "Aleks? I know you're in there, I can hear you breathing," Wolfgang said as he opened the door. Please no, please just leave. Please! "Please open the door Aleks, I just want to talk. Please?" I stayed as still as I could praying that he would give up and leave. "Please, Aleks. Please just hear me out." I heard him sigh and the sound of his footsteps getting further away. I shuffled out from under the bed and sat on it, putting my head in my hands and beginning to cry once more. Why? Why did he have to do this to me? Why couldn't he have just never asked me out in the beginning; it would have saved us both so much pain? Well, he might not be in pain, but I am. Bastard."Aleks?" a voice asked as a hand rapped on my bedroom door. "Aleks? You in there? Come on out little sis, please." I raised my head from my pillow where I had fallen asleep and shuffled over to the door. I opened the door, finding Adam stood on the other side. I looked up at him through sleepy eyes and was crushed against him suddenly. "Don't worry, Aleks, you'll be ok, I promise," he cooed, stroking my hair. I sobbed into his chest, something I seem to be doing more often now. After a while Adam pushed me away from him, a tucked some of my hair back behind my ear. "You're going to be ok now, Aleks, I know you don't want to hear this but I think you should hear that boy out, let him talk, just listen to him, he's changed his mind, he's willing to do anything to make it up to you. Just let him talk to you, please. Please, Aleks, can you do this for me?" I took a deep breath and nodded slowly. "Now come down stairs and eat something, please, Aleks?"I sighed, nodded and turned towards the stairs. I walked into the kitchen and picked up an apple from the fruit bowl, before sitting down at the table and taking a bite out of the apple.
"You need to eat more than just an apple, dear," my mother said coming in from the garden. I smiled up at her before taking another bite of my apple. "Dinner will be ready soon, can you fetch your brothers, please?" I got up from the table and walked into the living room. I walked up to their rooms after not finding them in the living room.I walked back downstairs and turned towards the kitchen. As I did so I saw a sliver of light peering through a tiny crack in the staircase. I crept towards the crack and found a slight notch in the wood panels near it. I pressed down on it, a creaking noise ensued as the panel slid back, revealing a small set of stairs. I cautiously walked down them to see what looked like a weaponry; guns and knives lining the walls and my brothers loading up a rifle each.
"Matt? Adam? Wh-what are you doing?" I stuttered. My brothers turned to see me stood in the doorway.
"What are you doing in here, Aleks? You shouldn't be down here," Matthew stated, putting the gun down and walking over to me.
"Mum wanted me to tell you that dinner is ready," I replied.
"You really shouldn't be down here," Matthew repeated as he stopped in front of me.
"Why do you have weapons down here? What are they for?" I asked.
"It's our hunting gear for when we hunt werewolves," Adam sighed. I sucked in a breath. "We aren't going to hurt Wolfgang, don't worry."
"Please don't hurt him, I couldn't stand that," I murmured, a tear trailing down my cheek. Matthew pulled me into him, hugging me tightly and wiped the tear from my face.
"Come on, let's go have dinner," Adam said, putting his weapons away and gesturing for me to go up first. I walked back up the stairs and made my way into the kitchen. I sat down at the table, my brothers following after me and sat down as well, Adam next to me, Matthew opposite me. My mum sat down next to Matthew and we all tucked into our dinner.
