Kaede's POV
I practically dragged my eyes up drowsily as I woke up
I shivered from the cold concrete I woke up on, getting up slowly before falling back down, my whole body ached
I groaned slightly, what am I doing on this random floor?
I tried to jog up my memory, but as soon as I did, my neck throbbed in pain
That did it. A sudden memory came back to me
In my mind, a timid boy with blue hair and a black hat sat with me in desks I was holding his hand gently
"Kaede..?" The blue boy stuttered
That's it! I know it! My name is Kaede Akamatsu!
"I wish there was a piano here, I would play you a song to cheer you up!" I told him
Piano..? That's right...I play piano!
"Hmm....a pretty song to play for you... Oh, like 'Clair De Lune" by Debussy!" I suggested sweetly
C-Clair....Clair De Lune..?
"It's a soothing song that calms your heart, like the moons reflection on water" I paused
This boy is....cute!
"..." He didn't respond
The Flashback ended, there was definitely more but I can't remember right now..
I decided to get up for real, I slowly brought myself up hesitantly, still hurting
Ngh....Why does my neck hurt so much..?
I stood up slowly, stretching my arms and legs
I looked around, taking in my surroundings
It was dark...and cold.
But I have a feeling I have to get out of here, and fast, if I could just remember more..
That boy...
I don't know who he is, or what his name is...
But I have a feeling I'm supposed to get to him
"I'll get to you my.....blue-haired boy in a shining cap!" I exclaimed out loud
I seemed to be alone, but I can't be sure so I probably shouldn't have yelled that..
Oh well! I just gotta get out of here!
I started walking, every time I stepped forward my whole body ached, but for that guy, I have to do this!
"I can do this! I can do this..!" I whisper-motivated myself, I can do it!
Wait a second...Where am I? Can I be sure I'm even close to that boy?!
Don't think like that! You just gotta believe! That's right...believe!
Another fragment of the memory came back to me
"You noticed huh? Yeah..... I'm shaking too." I said to him, gently squeezing his hand in the process

"But....I'd be a mess if you weren't here.." I told him sweetly
I knew it... I did, like this boy, didn't I?
"I wouldn't have been able to do anything... I would've been so lost.." I trailed off in thought
This boy, really is cute! I wonder what he'd look like without the hat!
"I'm glad you're here with me, Shuichi." I said to him lovingly
...
The flashback ended.
"S-Shuichi?!" I exclaimed
I remember now...
The killing game...
"I-I" I struggled to get the right words out
"I killed Rantaro-!" I yelled
"W-Why am I alive?!" I yelled again, trembling
"After what I did...I don't even deserve to live!" I cried out, my knees gave up on me, and I gave up on myself too
Why..?
How..?
Why am I alive..?
Wait..
I shouldn't be giving up!
I'm given a second chance to life!
Rantaro would want me to move on!
I can't dwell in the past if I want to help Shuichi defeat the mastermind because...
"I'm not giving up for Shuichi! I have the hope to move on and I'll help as much as I can before the mastermind can get to him!" I yelled out, standing back up and marching towards the unknown
I'm going to escape wherever I am, before it's too late!
