You want to let out the breath you were holding for a brief moment but decide against it. You didn't know if the perpetrator was downstairs with Sidney or not. But before you move to slowly exit her bedroom, there's a noise from the window.

"Hey," Billy says from behind you, scaring the shit out of you. You were still holding the knife, and when you turned to face him, he put his hands up.

"Woah, are you okay? I heard yelling," he says softly.

You hesitantly drop the knife, a little suspicious of how Billy got here so quickly, but a part of you is glad to see your best friend. The best friend you still feel uneasy about.

The air you were holding in escapes your mouth along with a sob, your body weak from the fear and adrenaline taking their hold on it. Billy pulls you to his chest, stroking your hair to try and calm you down.

"The killer, he was here," you say incoherently, looking behind your shoulder.

"He must be gone. Where's Sidney?"

"Downstairs, I think. I don't know where he went. What if he's still here?" you pause for a moment, panicking, "What if he got Sid?" you rip away from Billy, grabbing the knife and hurrying down the hall before he could stop you.

"(Y/N), wait!"

You freeze at the top of the stairs, seeing Sidney leaned up against the front door unscathed, to your relief. She has her knees to her chest, close to hyperventilating.

"Is Sid okay?" Billy asks, looking over your shoulder with an odd look on his face.

"Yeah, as fine as she could be. The killer almost slit her throat," you sniff, stopping yourself as you turn to face Billy.

He nods, and a moment of silence falls across the house. Then, a thump. You look down to see where a phone fell from Billy's hand. Your heart begins to race as that familiar numb feeling of fear overcomes your body.

"No fucking way," you shake your head, beginning to retreat backward as your back hits the guardrail at the realization.

"What's wrong, (Y/N)?" Billy asks, stepping forward.

"Stay away," you gasp shakily, moving slowly across the railing to the top of the staircase.

"You don't think I did this, do you?" Billy's face contorts into disgust and shock, but after what you've seen and now experienced, you can't help but draw the conclusion you feared.

You don't respond and turn to run down the stairs as fast as humanly possible, your heavy footfall alerting Sidney from the front door.

She stands up slowly, and when you reach her, you wrap your arms around her.

"I think it's Billy," you whisper in her ear.

She drags her eyes upward to where Billy still stands at the top of the stairs, his face still a shocked expression.

"We need to go," Sidney's voice cracks.

You're able to finally unlock the front door, swinging it open to see the stupid fucking mask in front of you.

Both Sidney and you scream, only for Dewey Riley to reveal himself holding the mask.

"Billy," you look at Dewey, eyes wide with fear still, "He appeared after the killer left. I think he-"

Dewey nods, putting a hand on your shoulder, escorting the two of you to the ambulance to be checked out before heading inside the house with the other officers.

Billy comes out in cuffs, looking at you and Sidney with hurt and betrayal, especially you.

"(Y/N)! You're one of my best friends, you know I didn't do this! Please tell them," Billy's eyes don't leave you as they put him in the back of a police car.

He continues to call after you after the door slams shut, his eyes boring into yours.

You rub your arms as you stand by the ambulance, the responders tending to some of Sidney's wounds. Before Sidney started running to where you stood at the front door earlier, the masked man had bashed her head into the floor and tried strangling her. This makes you wonder because the attacker was on the phone with you just seconds before they appeared running towards you. Which makes you remember what you saw that first night at Casey's. Both Stu and Billy. Maybe Stu was in the costume or on the phone? Or it could've been Billy. You needed to stop thinking so hard because you were starting to get a headache.

Tatum pulls up in her car, jogging to us, "Is everything okay? I came as soon as I heard."

"You've heard? How-" before you can finish your sentence, you glance around only to notice a news van nearby, including Top Story.

You roll your eyes, "Of course."

Dewey pipes up beside the gurney, where he now stood, "Everything is fine for now. We have someone in custody."

"Who?" Tatum looks between you and Sidney.

You just shake your head. You don't want to tell anyone if it wasn't Billy, which you're pretty confident it is. Maybe you just don't want to believe it.

"How about the two of you stay over at my house until all of this blows over tonight. I'm sure now that someone has been arrested, everything will calm down, but you guys shouldn't be alone," Tatum suggests, and Dewey looks at her, confused.

"Does mom know?" he asks quietly.

"Yes, I asked before I left, shithead."

"I need to call my mom," you say, rubbing your face exasperatedly.

"You can when we get to the station," Dewey says.

You look down at your feet and nod, realizing you are about to be bombarded with questions again. All of this has been so exhausting. It's been such a long day, and you've only slept 2 hours in 2 days, and you don't expect to sleep tonight either.
