Love is something precious to be cherished. Reaper never thought he'd get it. Every human he touched, succumbed to death within a couple seconds and the other gods held no positive feelings towards him, besides Tori, of course, but Reaper already came to terms with the fact that he was gay.He once loved a human farmer. They fell in love and spent time together, enjoying activities that didn't require touch. It was only after nearly a year of being together that Reaper walked in on the man making love to a younger woman.
Enraged, Reaper had killed the girl. The man finally told him the truth. That his love was a lie and he had been used to prolong his life.
Broken, Reaper left.
He hadn't loved since then, refusing to let himself get hurt like that again.
Of course, Fate had other plans.
Reaper went to fetch the soul of a monster who was meant to have died long before. He finds a beautiful skeleton, dressed in white and a red scarf adorning his neck. If Reaper needed to breathe, his breath would've caught when he first saw him.
The skeleton was short and wounded, but the chips and cracks only added to his haunting beauty. Each crack and chip a story, showing just how strong the lovely one was. Looking closely, half of his skull was melted off, but Reaper felt nothing but adoration. He'd met the one.
He was suddenly hit with the realization that Reaper was supposed to end the beautiful skeletons life. After a few seconds of thought, he knew he couldn't kill him. So, he approached with a grin on his face, ready to charm the small skeleton.
That's how it started. Reaper would come to learn the skeleton's name was Geno. A nice name, Reaper had thought, certainly better than his own, which decides his fate. Geno was open to anything, nothing held it back, not born into a thankless job. Besides the name, Reaper would come to learn that Geno was a very ambitious person, having wiped the memories from the sans of his universe to try over and over again to convince him to do what must be done, whatever that was, Geno never said, not that Reaper asked (thats a lie, Reaper asked many times, before giving up after Geno gave him the silent treatment). Reaper would almost call him Determined, if he didn't think that was a stupid comment, based on Genos appearance.
Month had passed, then Geno began to allow his flirting and would even shoot a few pickup lines himself, rather than just rejecting Reaper's advances like he had done when they first met. Things were going perfectly. It wasn't long after that they shared their first kiss.
They were cuddled up on the floor, specifically on the patch of grass in the Save Screen. It was cold there, but with Geno pressed up against him, the cold was bearable. A smile grazed Reapers mouth as he looked at Geno's precious face. Now was one of the times Geno removed the pesky glitch over his melted eye socket. Geno thought it was ugly, but Reaper couldn't help but disagree, it was beautiful and full of strength.
Geno caught his staring and nudged him, feeling a little self-conscious. "Reap... You're staring" he said, looking away to not be confronted with the expression of pure awe on Reapers face. "You're beautiful, my love, how could I not stare?" He whispered back, taking the chance to pepper little kisses over Geno's face.
That alone made Geno's face turn a deep shade of crimson and before Reaper could continue his verbal attack of compliments, Geno turned to face Reaper and kissed him. It started out chaste, but it quickly turned heated when Reaper rolled on top of Geno, licking into his mouth, trying to pour every drop of affection and love into the kiss. To say there was sparks would be an understatement, it felt like there was fire burning up inside them, only spilling out to mingle with each other's flame. It was so good, but overwhelming as well.
When they finally pulled away, their faces were flushed and strands of saliva connected them. They greedily gulped in air, before delving in again, getting addicted to the feelings of absolute passion. It wasn't long before clothes were shed and pleasured cries echoed through the Save Screen. They didn't stop until they were too tired to continue. The two loved each other truly and that day, for even a split second, their souls were one.
Life, went on, Reaper eventually left to do his job, but always would come back to bring him gifts, cuddle, or spend another day filled with passion. Everything was good, until it wasn't.
After an especially long session of love making, Geno had conceived. It was a surprise for the couple, since they hadn't thought that was possible. Reaper dotted on his lover, but of course he still had to attend to his job. Unfortunately work picked up and Reaper had to be away from Geno for increasing amounts of time.
Without the constant flow of magic from the father and Geno's soul already being weak, he'd lost the baby. It left the two devastated. Geno sent Reaper away wanting to be alone for a while.
What Reaper didn't know was in his absence, Geno came to the conclusion that he could try and use his Determination to strengthen his soul for their next attempt. Only, that resulted in Geno disappearing. When Reaper came back, he was left to mourn not only the death of their child, but the man he loved so much.
Sorrow filled his very being and he mourned for a very long time, refusing to work and barely taking care of himself. All he did was drink coffee and cry, he couldn't even sleep, because of the sheer amount of caffeine he was consuming.
It was years later that he finally had to get back to work, since his bro could no longer do it on his own, after a new player joined the game. Error, Destroyer of Aus. Reaper didn't think much of him, besides him being an annoyance, since he only added to his work load.
More years passed before Reaper returned to the au Geno was from. He needed to deal with his demons and accept that Geno was gone for good. Except, when he got there, Geno was there. Same scarf, same melted socket, and same bloody wound. The only problem, a reset occurred, wiping Reaper from his memories.
Thats okay, Reaper can rebuild those memories with his new love. If he didn't focus on it too much, Reaper could even forget there ever was a time when the current Geno wasn't the first.
Of course, Reapers life couldn't not be a tragedy. He leaves for work and finds his lover missing. Again. He broke.
He wept, tears flowing from his sockets. The pain in his soul overwhelming his senses. It hurt so badly. Why couldn't he just be allowed to be happy? His soul cracked from the sheer amount of pain. He clawed at his skull, cracking it and leaving marrow to spill out of it. He screamed, cried, and laughed, he almost tore his soul apart right there, if it wasn't for the fact that Ink had appeared through a portal at that very moment.
Not even letting the guardian speak, Reaper demanded, "Where is Geno!?". Ink only looked sorrowful before answering, "Error took him, did something to him". That sent Reaper into a frenzy, Error would pay for what he's done.
He leaves quickly, scythe in hand he hunts Error down. When he finds him, he tears into him with everything he has.
Then suddenly, he sees it. Errors soul. He knows it well, a shard with a mix of red and blue, from the day they had bonded their souls together. He couldn't fight him. So, he dropped his scythe. Error left instantly.
The memories of Geno, the baby, and their time together, flashed in his head and more tears flooded from his sockets. He lost everything all over again.
Time moved on and from a distance, Reaper watched his previous lovers do their own thing, forgetting all about his. He knew he stood no chance with either of them now. He wasn't apart of them anymore. They found someone new. Error had fallen in love with the guardian of negativity, Nightmare. Fatal had fallen for the flower Sans, Lavender. He couldn't compete, nor did he want to. He didn't want to steal away love from someone else, it was wrong, he knows personally how it feels. He also Loved them too much to want to ruin their happiness like that.
Life went on, and Reaper focused on his job, not allowing himself to get attached again, knowing it would only end in tragedy.
