Summary: Frank went to the same school as you your whole life, but you never really became close. One day, you went to a party and ended up being outside in the rain, alone, when he showed up.———————————————————————————
Today was a cold day. The rain, the weather, the world. It all seemed to be against you, especially today. This party was supposed to to be some distraction, but apparently it didn't work.
Your friend invited you to go with her. You knew she didn't really care about you and just needed a ride, but the last time you left your house was about 4 months ago and you really thought this was a good ideia to cheer you up.
Unfortunately, things almost never turn out the way we plan. A sad wave crossed your body and you started to think a lot, making you panic and run outside where you could be alone. It is like your mind cares more about what people think of you than actually you, and it's fucking exhausting.
Now you were sitting on the cold floor, rain falling down on you as you thought about how you hated the way your brain works.
It's been around 10 minutes, you noticed someone approaching and sitting beside you. Deep in your thoughts, you didn't pay much attention; you didn't really care anymore. Nothing seemed to make you feel better.
During a couple of minutes you felt them staring at you. You didn't really like being watched, so you decided to break the silence.
"Shouldn't you be inside?" You say with a low tone.
"Yeah..." He nods slowly. You then realized it was Frank.
"Why are you here?" You shrugged.
"I-I wanted to be with you..." He looks away.
You glanced at him and felt a bit sad, he was trying to help you. Your thoughts were racing. Tears started to form in your eyes, some of them escaped and mixed up with the rain. He heard you sniffle and looked at you concerned, but too hesitant to do something.
You thought about every time he would stay with you in the break time so you wouldn't be alone, or when he complimented you after the singing classes. He was always there and you were so stupid to appreciate it. Now, meeting him after about a year, you realized how ungrateful you've been to him. So you decided to fix things up.
"Frank...?" You said looking down.
"Yes?"
"Do you feel like this too?" You played with your fingers.
"Like what?" He said softly, taking your hand.
"I-I mean... I know I should be happy and dancing like everyone else but I just can't..." You immediately felt stupid as you said how you felt and hid your face.
"Hey, it's okay. Don't worry about that." He squeezes your hand.
"Frank, you don't need to be here, y'know... you're probably drunk and-"
He grabbed your face, making you look at him.
"I'm not drunk, (Y/N). I just care about you." He said smiling.
You spent a few minutes looking into his eyes. Suddenly, the time was so cold it froze. You always liked him, but for some reason you avoided him. Maybe because he was always kind and sweet to you and you just couldn't accept that. You thought you didn't deserve it. Your thoughts were so cruel to you — and still are, even in this moment.
Tears started rushing and Frank softly wiped them. You couldn't look into his eyes anymore, you were too embarrassed for that.
"Uhm, can I... ask you something?" You whispered.
"Of course" He softly rubbed his thumb on your cheek.
"Why are you so good to me? You always were..."
"Because" He got closer. "I like you. Always did."
You remained in silence, now looking into his eyes, trying to search for something. He seemed to feel calm, and at the same time you felt safe in his hands."I like you too." You whispered, smiling.
He smiled back like a silly child. You got closer until you could feel each other's breaths as you glanced at his lips. He immediately pulled you into a kiss. Softly you placed your hands on his scruff, letting his black hair envolve your fingers, as he was still holding your face. The rain, instead of cold, sounded calm and peaceful. The weather was now making you feel pure and the rest of the world didn't matter to you anymore.
You broke the kiss to catch air and prepared yourself to say something.
"Frank, I'm... so sorry. I've always been an asshole to you and you're the best person I've ever met and-"
"Hey, (Y/N), it's okay. You just didn't know how to react, and I get it. I'm always here with you because i want to and I like being around you, it's not a responsibility"
"I just feel I'm taking advantage of you..." You looked down.
"Your not, you're just confused. Don't worry about it, okay?"
"Okay..." You whispered, smiling.
He pulled you into a hug, making you lay your head on his chest, and you remained there, in the freezing cold, together.
In the end, you just needed someone to care about you; and you were glad it was him.
