Of all the things that feel wrong, this makes it to the top of the list. No doubt, you'd think murder would be up high on their list, but it wasn't even touchable in their eyes compared to this. It feels wrong. It is wrong. So much more wrong than slitting someone open from end to end.

"This feels weird," Stu says after almost an hour of eerie silence.

"I know. But we need to make sure (Y/N) doesn't do or say anything else incriminating," Billy says, chewing on his bottom lip nervously.

Billy was released because the killer made a surprise call to Sidney while Billy was in jail. He was told to stay home until the phone records came in the following day. So much for that. Currently, the two boys are camped outside of your apartment in the woods behind it. You're putting the pieces together too quickly for their liking. So, they have to keep an eye on you for now. They don't want you ruining their grand plan.

You don't always keep your curtains open, especially now that a killer is on the loose, but tonight you figured why not. Your mother keeps a huge hunting knife in the kitchen drawer, which is now on your nightstand for safekeeping. So, if anyone did try to burst through the window, you're covered. It's a nice night; the moon is full and visible, so you let the moonlight shine into your dimly lit bedroom. Deciding you actually need to attempt sleep, you begin pulling your black hoodie off, your shirt riding up your stomach.

"Should we look away?" Stu mumbles next to Billy.

Their hiding spot was sheathed with large trees, so you couldn't see them, or anyone else for that matter, in the woods. But the two had a clear view of you undressing in your bedroom window.

"Um," Billy stutters, unable to tear his eyes from your body as you remove your shirt.

You shimmy out of your jeans, turning to your dresser by the window. You search for a pair of comfy pants and a t-shirt. Quickly dressing, you head to your bed to try and read a book to get stuff off your mind enough to sleep, completely unaware that your best friends just saw you undress.

"That was interesting," Stu chuckles, and Billy punches his upper arm.

"Get your mind out of the gutter, Stu," Billy rolls his eyes, flicking a leaf off his leg.

"What? A guy can't look every once in a while?" Stu pouts defensively, rubbing his arm.

"Whatever," Billy huffs, but he can't help the burning feeling in his face at the memory of you almost naked.

---

You fall asleep while reading and wake up to your alarm, still sitting up in bed. Thankfully, your neck wasn't at an odd angle, so you didn't have to worry about a headache amongst everything else.

Since classes were suspended yesterday, you realize you had nothing to do until tonight when Stu was having his party. Putting away your book, you get out of bed and stretch before heading down to the living room. Your mother was awake and watching television.

"So, when were you going to tell me all of this?" she says from the couch, an astonished yet concerned look on her face as Top Story plays on TV.

You had meant to call her last night at the police station, but you were too frazzled and drained after the questioning and events of the night to pick up the phone. The previous two days had come and gone, and you hadn't so much as spoken to or seen your mother. Whenever you were at school, she was at work. The two of you were ships in the night when you were both at home.

"I'm sorry," you apologize sheepishly, scratching the back of your head, "it just all happened so fast, and I've been so tired."

Your mother nods understandingly, facing back to the television, "Well, at least you have the long weekend to rest and get away from everything."

"I'm actually going to Stu's tonight with Sidney and Tatum, but other than that, I'm staying home," you say, hoping your mother wouldn't make you stay home, even though you have an inkling that you should.

"As long as Stu and Billy are with you at all times to protect you, it's fine. Just don't go anywhere alone, okay?" your mother turns back to face you from her position on the couch.

You nod.

"Are you okay, though? Sort of a loaded question, I know, but I heard the murderer tried to kill you and Sidney and that you witnessed him killing your friend. Do you need to talk about it?" your mother says, looking concerned once more.

You sigh, "All I've done the last two days is talk about it, which is one reason why I'm going to Stu's party to get my mind off things. I'll come to you when I'm ready, okay?" you rub your arms, drawing yourself in at the thought of having to relive the last two days again.

You know that eventually, after all this is over, you'll have to tell your story to some shrink because there's no way you're living life unscathed by this. But you'll cross that bridge when you get to it.

Once your mother leaves for work, albeit worried about leaving you alone in the apartment, you're sitting in the living room surfing the channels. The only thing on television is news coverage about the killer and the stories about you, Sidney, and Casey. Frustrated, you turn off the tv. You contemplate going back to sleep to catch up on rest, but then the phone rings.

"Hello?" you ask hesitantly, not knowing who to expect on the other line anymore.

"Hey, it's me," Stu says, "Billy and I were wondering if you wanna have a movie day before the party tonight. You know, like the days before a crazy psychotic killer showed up?"

You hear Stu mutter an 'ouch,' and you figure Billy smacked or hit him for the last comment.

"Hey, yeah, sure. I kinda need to make it up to Billy, anyway," you frown, twisting the phone cord around your finger, "I feel bad for pointing fingers at him. Dewey called after mom left for work and told me they didn't find anything on his cell record."

"Don't worry about it, " Billy says on the phone after Stu hands it to him, "I understand why you'd think it was me."

You sigh in relief, although that gut feeling and memory of the two at Casey's isn't too far from your mind, "Good. But yeah, do you guys wanna come over here, or I come to one of your houses?"

There's shuffling on the other line for a moment before Stu is back on the phone, "Wherever has the most popcorn and beer!"
