Episode 1-Gather Up the Killers

Vincent: It's a beautiful day outside.

Vincent: Streets are packed with tourists.

Vincent: They're drinking beers, they're chasing beads, headed out on the vampire walking tour of New Orleans.

Vincent: They think it's a myth.

Vincent: Just part of our city's charm.

Vincent: Well, we know better.

Vincent: Just like we know that there's a storm coming.

Vincent: This week marks five years since the fall of the Mikaelsons.

Vincent: Five years of peace.

Vincent: And, we paid a high price for that peace.

Vincent: We witches, we earned that peace.

Vincent: We snatched back our freedom, we severed our link with our ancestors.

Vincent: To take back our city, we backed Marcel Gerard.

Vincent: Now, since then, we fought hard to build this community.

Vincent: And in the next week, as we celebrate our independence, that community will be challenged.

Vincent: Because every year we get visitors.

Vincent: Vampires from all over the world. They come here, and they want to see firsthand the suffering of Klaus Mikaelson.

Vincent: Now some of those vampires, they're gonna be well behaved.

Vincent: Others not so much.

Vincent: You see, out-of-town vampires they don't care about our city. They don't follow our rules.

Vincent: They will instigate trouble. They will attempt to upset our peace and the only way that we're gonna get through that is if we get through that together.

Vincent: Now, this ain't the first time that we've faced conflict.

Vincent: Each and every single one of us here has faced their fair share of monsters.

Vincent: I swear, I feel sometimes this city just has evil lurking in the shadows.

Vincent: For a long time, we've managed to keep our monsters buried.

Vincent: And now we've got to make sure that they stay buried.

Vincent: Otherwise, we will lose everything that we've built... we will lose it forever.

Marcel: To five years of independence.

Marcel: And old enemies who became new friends.

Sofya: I thought you said this was strictly a business meeting.

Marcel: Oh, you didn't mind last time we mixed business with pleasure.

Sofya: You pay me for information, and I have quite a bit to share.

Sofya: As predicted, Klaus' enemies are flocking to New Orleans to celebrate.

Sofya: However, some are seeking allies among your witches.

Sofya: No doubt they want to befriend the very covens that still resent you, start conflict, undermine your power, and perhaps steal your prized trophy. Klaus himself.

Marcel: Oh, how diabolical.

Marcel: It's a good thing I called a truce with the witches.

Marcel: Vincent wants peace as much as I do.
