Dean had run for his life on many occasions but he never thought that he would be chasing after an alpha skinwalker. The large German shepherd growled as he got closer and flashed his large teeth at him. Dean remained cool-headed and continued to chase after him until the dog vanished for his sight.
"Where did he go?" Dean asked, pulling out his silver knife. He knew that the skinwalker was trying to ambush him so he had to be prepared for any attack from anywhere. The only problem was that he was surrounded by miles of woods that he had never stepped foot in. Normally Sam would be with him, but his little brother had his own hands full trying to help all the victims keep from attacking anyone. The two of them went on this hunt thinking it was a werewolf but every suspect they talked with had no memory of who they were or what had happened. The only thing they all remembered was a man and a german shepherd, Sam theorized that the skinwalker was turning these people and somehow messing with their minds so they couldn't risk accidentally telling a hunter about him. Dean figured he was right and was eager to know what this son of bitch had done to all these people. Because these victims couldn't control their transformation between human and animal and were beginning to become very aggressive. Dean was pulled out of his thoughts when something big and furry jumped on him, knocking him to the ground. Dean could see that it was the skinwalker and wrestled under its paws trying to free himself or grab his knife. The German Shepherd growled fiercely and knocked his weapon away, he opened his mouth full of large canine teeth. Dean grabbed the monster's mouth and prevented it from biting him, however, he still got scratched along the arm. It left a small trail of blood but Dean barely noticed it.
"Hey!" A voice called out. Dean recognized it as his little brother, the skinwalker turned his attention away from him. Only for Sam to shoot him with a silver bullet, the impact wasn't fatal but it managed to injure him, and the angry skinwalker limped away. "Dean oh my god are you okay?!" Sam exclaimed, rushing to his brother.
"I'm fine," Dean responded, hiding the scratch from his brother. It was just a small one and he had gotten hurt way worse in the past. "Don't worry he didn't bite me,"
"Okay but we need a way to kill this guy because all silver seems to do is slow him down," Sam said, helping Dean stand up. "He must be the alpha,"
"Great, that's just great," Dean responded sarcastically. The alpha skinwalker had been wounded and ran back to his hiding place which was found in a cave hidden deep within the forest. While he had failed to kill the hunter, he was, however, able to scratch him and he was almost certain that soon he would start exhibiting signs that he was turning into a skinwalker. Having a hunter as a skinwalker was going to help him even more since he would know everything that runs through the hunter's mind. Back at their motel room, Dean had gone to the bathroom to clean off the wound, he closed the bathroom door and took off his leather jacket only to find that the wound on his arm had healed easily. "There's no way,"
"Dean?" Sam called from outside the bathroom. "Are you sure you're okay?"
"I'm fine Sam!" Dean called back. "Any news on those new victims?" He asked. Dean figured that the wound was just a lot less serious than he thought. Though in the very back of his mind he worried that the wound healed because he got infected when the Skinwalker attacked him. Dean stepped out of the bathroom acting as nothing had happened. The wound was gone but the longer time passed and he felt no pain at all, his worries grew.
"I've managed to keep them all calm but I have no idea why they've lost their memories, one of them is quite young," Sam responded. "I feel like whoever this Skinwalker is, was planning on creating an army. Dean nodded as if that made total sense to him and didn't notice that he was beginning to scratch his arm. "What happened to your arm?" Sam asked.
"Nothing," Dean answered. "Just need to get out of these clothes, tomorrow we need to find out more about what this son of a bitch is up to," he continued. Dean walked away without giving Sam a chance to respond, he just needed to sleep and in the morning everything would be fine. Sam thought about following his brother but he decided against it since he knew Dean needed his rest. Besides he still had research to get done, the last victim he had talked with before he went crazy was that he was searching for his family only to find them dead. The victim was only a teenager who was raising his brother and sister since his parents had left them. The teen was a complete mess and wished he could remember what had happened or could have stopped whatever did it.
Seconds later the teen touched the back of his neck and without warning went crazy changing into a black wolf-like dog. Sam barely managed to get away unscathed, as he thought back to that moment he wondered if the alpha was responsible for the unexplained aggression as well. The few times he and his brother had encountered skinwalkers they could change into their animal form with ease and weren't suffering from anything like this. So therefore unless he didn't know something about Skinwalker transformations, the alpha was doing something more to these people than just turning them. Hours went by and Sam eventually fell asleep on top of a lore book regarding animal transformations. Dean on the other hand couldn't sleep at all, his room suddenly became very hot and his whole body felt different. His arm began itching again and Dean tried to resist scratching it but he couldn't help it.
"What the hell?" Dean asked himself wishing that whatever was happening would just stop. It didn't and Dean didn't get any sleep that night, his room was too hot.
