Sunset and Rainbow Dash stayed a little longer to talk with the two women. It was awkward because Rarity and I exchanged glances before looking away as if nothing was going on between us.
"Excuse me, I'll be in the restroom," Miss Rarity Belle said as she rose from her seat and made her way to the restroom.
I looked around, and everyone seemed busy talking to each other. I got out of my seat and followed Rarity to the restroom.
As I walked through the halls, I came across a bathroom with the door slightly open. I leaned against the wall, facing the other way.
"Rarity?" I asked, looking up at the ceiling.
Rarity squeaked, followed by the sound of shattered glass.
"A-Applejack, what are you doing here!?" she exclaimed from within.
"Uhm...standing while waiting for you?" I asked, looking to the side. "Are you all right in there?"
There was a brief pause before she spoke. "Yes...but also no."
I straightened up and looked at the door, a worried expression on my face. "Do you mind if I come in?"
"No."
I grabbed the doorknob and yanked it open. Rarity was standing in the middle of the bathroom, surrounded by shattered glass.
"Don't move," I said as I entered the restroom. I looked around and found a miniature broom and dustpan. I picked it up and began sweeping the shattered glass on the floor.
While sweeping, I noticed tiny drops of blood on the floor. When I looked up at Rarity, I noticed her hands were bleeding.
I quickly dropped the broom and dustpan and approached her. "Why didn't you tell me you were bleeding?" I questioned.
"It is," I replied. I dragged her over to the counter, lifted her, and forced her to sit on top of it.
"Applejack! You can't just carry me like that-"
"Can you just stop talking and let me treat your wound?" I said as I approached the nearest cabinet in search of a first aid kit.
"It's only a small cut," she explained, "it's not a big deal."
"You're bleeding badly, and you're telling me it's a small cut?" I said, gently grabbing her bleeding hand. "You're just making excuses to avoid me."
When I looked at her hand, I noticed a large cut on her index finger. I took out the first aid kit and started treating her wound. I finished it by wrapping it in gauze and looked at her.
"Done," I said, "now stay there and I'll clean the floor."
Rarity went down to the counter after I put the last shattered glass in the trash can.
"Why did the glass break in the first place anyways?" I asked her.
"I was startled when I heard your voice," she said, "and why are you even standing outside the door?"
I went beside her and leaned against the counter. "I...wanted to speak with you."
"About what?" Miss Rarity Belle asked, turning away from me. "If it's about us, I already told you it's not going to work."
"How are you so sure it won't work? We haven't even tried dating yet," I said, folding my arms in frustration. "Of course, we can't date because someone is too scared to admit their feelings," I said, a sarcastic tone in my voice.
