"Wait where are we going?" Griffin asks, as they pass the training station with the new recruits inside.

"You really can't just follow simple rules can you?" She asks, stopping in front of a window to a room.

Knocking on the glass, she turns to face him, looking him up and down. She recognized him after a moment, from her old boarding school. Important people went there, like the children of governors, ceo's, rich kids, or, in her case, children whose parent's work was dangerous, and they needed to keep their child safe. He was one of the rich kids, popular, and a track star. She had him in a couple of classes, because even though he was two years older, he took regular classes and she was two years ahead of her classmates, on fast track out of high school so she could enter the training program they held here, and join her brothers and father. She doubted he remembered.

"Why are we here? Who even are you?" He asked, trying to look at what was beyond the window, in the dark room.

"Figures." She rolled her eyes. "Ruby Goddard, I'm the one who gets to babysit you."

He frowns.

Spoiled little rich kid, She thinks to herself, smiling internally. I'm going to have fun with this one.

"I don't need a babysitter." He scoffs. "Especially not a little girl who's probably only agreed to help me because she has the hots for my brother."

She stared at him for a moment before she burst out laughing.

"You think I like Ellenwood? That's hilarious." She snorted. "Oh you're adorable."

A lady shows up at the window.

"A badge for Griffin Ellenwood, please." She says, pressing her badge to the scanner.

"Another one?" The lady looks up.

"Yeah, I know, don't get excited though, this one's equally as annoying." Ruby smiles at her, taking the badge from the sweet old lady. "Thank you so much Angie, tell Mari I said hi."

"Of course dear."

They walk past the elevator to a set of stairs, going down to a different side of the basement.

"I'm not trying to get in your brother's pants, and I don't appreciate you insinuating that. Now listen because I am only going to say this once. Most people would kill for the opportunity you have, you're only here because of your brother. I am your superior, so whether you like it or not, you will be respectful to me, or I will make your life a living hell. Do I make myself clear?" She asked, stopping to turn and glare at him.

"Yes."

She turned to the obstacle course and flipped the lights on to the darkened area.

"Wait, don't I know you?" He asked.

Took him fucking long enough.

"Yes." She said turning to face him.

"From where?" He asked.

"I went to North Star. We had some classes together."

" How are you here before me though? Aren't you younger than me?" He asked furrowing his thick brows.

"I skipped two grades, graduated high school a year early, and was able to graduate college at 17, so I could be here. Because like you I have an older brother who works here. Two actually. But unlike you I didn't walk in here entitled an shit, touching everything and getting in people's business. I worked with the rest of the interns, training under your brother for two years till I was the best."
