Cassie's POV
Today was the day that Jerome was leaving for London.
He was packing all his college essentials at his house with Mitch helping him. I really was sad to see him go, after all, he's been my best friend since we were 10. Throughout the week, I've just been telling myself that I meant nothing to Jerome, only a friend. I just knew that I shouldn't get attached to him, it would just make him leaving harder for me.
On the contrary, Carlee was taking this a little bit lighter than. Of course Mitch decided he was staying here, so she really had nothing to worry about. I hadn't talked to her yet, and I knew she wasn't going to for a while.
When Mitch returned with Carlee from helping Jerome, I heard them call me down. I trotted down to find them both standing in the kitchen. They both hung their heads a little, like they were afraid to speak. Carlee was the first one to finally speak as I watched them intently.
"Bad news." I heard her whisper, hiding a wimper behind her words. She sighed heavily before continuing. "I'm leaving." She finished hurridly.
"So.....am I." Mitch added, keeping his head down.
"What?" I croaked, forcing back tears.
"I'm participating in an exchange program to Norway." Carlee answered, her expression almost matching mine.
"And, I'm moving to LA, for my job." Mitch said, finally looking at me with a contorted expression.
Carlee ran to me with such force that I was almost knocked over. She hugged my frozen figure tightly.
"I'm so sorry." She whispered into my neck. I felt her hot tears hit the back of my neck, mine threatening to fall.
I closed my eyes, feeling a second pair of strong arms wrap around me.
"Me too." Mitch said gentely, letting go before Carlee. "I leave in four days, she leaves in two." he added, gesturing to Carlee, who had covered her face with her hands.
They haven't talked to me for a week, and when they finally do, this is what they tell me?
"Okay." I said simply pulling away. I ran upstairs without another word, letting my tears spill as I hit the floor of my bedroom.
"I'm alone now." I told myself as the realization finally hit me.
I pulled my hands up to my forehead.
"Not again."

Sorry for the short chapter. I'm on spring break and I'm literally writing this at a basketball game. This chapter's recognition goes to goddamnmadeye
Right now I'm only reading their Miniminter fanfic (Playing Games), but I can tell you one thing: it's nothing short of amazing. The story line, the cover, the chapter length, just everything is perfection. Keep up the awesome work!
Anyway, HAVE AN AMAZING DAY
