I tilt my head up while I try to get my lashes on perfectly. At the same time, I was on FaceTime with Aaliyah. April was at my house getting ready as well, since she was going with Travis.
should've went and got my lashes done. all this struggling, is not it.
I let out a sigh of relief when I finally got my last lash on perfectly. These will have to do for tonight.
"I wish I could come with y'all. I'm just tired as hell with all this training they got me doing." She apologizes.
Aaliyah's always been a tennis girl, thick and through. She'd practice long hours just to be the best. Even gave up on boyfriends just to make it to the top.
She claimed there wasn't someone out there who was truly ready and understanding of her busy schedule but I think that's a lie. She'll find someone.
As her friends, we understood that she wouldn't always have time to hang out with us and we were alright with that if it meant we got to see our friend be happy.
"It's alright. We're definitely gonna do something all together soon. It's been a while." I let her know as I plug up my curlers.
"Aaliyah, they just better send your ass to the Olympics with all that training they got you doing." April piped in, walking into the bathroom.
Aaliyah chuckled. "Whole time you train more than me."
April started laughing, which made her take a pause on putting her lashes on. "You right."
After talking for a little more, we could tell Aaliyah was getting tired, so we hung up after she said we'll talk later.
"You talk to Hazel?" April asked while putting her earrings on.
"No. She's been acting weird lately." I answer, continuing to curl my hair.
"She been talking to this new friend named Sarah. She was just posting them hanging out all over her Instagram story, too. She acting like she can't talk to nobody."
"She probably just making new friends and forgot to hit us up. Nothing much to it." She shrugged.
"But mind you, when I had asked her about coming to the casino thing with us she was like no I gotta watch my nephews."
"Huh? She don't even like watching them bad ass kids." She chuckled lightly, realizing that Hazel was lying.
Maybe I was doing too much, but in my mind she was being weird. Why lie about what you're doing to your best friends unless you're doing something you know is wrong?
"So how the hell she watching her nephews if she out getting drunk on her Instagram story?" I question rhetorically.
I run a hand through my hair, loosening up the wand curls I had just finished. I grab my makeup bag from out of the drawer and sit it on the counter so I could do some touch ups on my makeup.
