“King Jimin.” I opened the door of his room. Regretting my actions instantly. He stood naked. “I’m sorry” shutting my eyes I turn on my heels ready to escape the awkward situation. That long shirt was loosely hanging on his body, barely even covering anything.
“Mi Amor don’t leave.” He held me back. “Get dressed up. I don’t wanna invade your privacy.” Divulging my eyes, I revolt. He softly smiles. “Why are you embarrassed? I'm your soon-to-husband.” His reference makes my heart go boom boom.
“That isn’t a valid point for me to see you half naked.” Roaming my eyes, elsewhere I answer. “Isn’t it good to practice though? You’ll be seeing me completely naked on our wedding night.”
Tucking a strand of hair behind my ear he seductively whispers. My heart!! Why do I feel I’ll die out of anxiety? “You shouldn’t be using such incoherent words with your fiance.”
I was definitely grumpy right now. He was excited to do that? And here I’ve been debating ways to overcome my fear of exposing myself to him. How can he be so confident?
“That doesn’t matter, like I said before we are practicing.” No, this ain't practising this is precise flirting, and gawking me naked with your aphorism. “Ok enough of your practise get dressed up now. I’ve come here to accompany you to my room. For the sleepover.”
Throughout the conversation my head hung low. Eyes amusingly staring at the perfectly marbled floor. His room was magnificent. “Fine you win, I’ll dress up. I’m letting you pass this time from unseeing my glorious body.” What a daring, shameless King. I wonder if he said these same words to Ah-rim?
Wait that ain’t possible, he equally resents her as me. “You-” I turned my head to scold him. Those unsaid complaints struck up my throat at the view of his back. He was tying the knot of the robe. A part of it was unbound. Primating the scar to be clearly visible.
“King Jimin, what is this?” Approaching him, I stand behind him. My gaze never diverted from that scar. “What are you asking about Mi Amor?” He chuckled, throwing his head back to see me.
“Who gave you that scar on your back? Seeing its state, it's a recent one. I could say. Is it from the war or something else?” Silence fell upon the room. It was an unpleasant muzzle which I did not like a bit. He was facing me now.
“Yeah I got it in the war” his toes twitched which I didn’t fail to notice. “Was it your enemy?” I knew he was lying. His eyes weren’t meeting mine distinctly depicting his false answer. “Yes it was the rival king.” Grabbing his wrist I sat down on the bed.
“I hate lies. Your Majesty of Busan. For a well known fact we all know Busan’s King has always won wars. Killed his enemies. Even before their swords touched your skin. The least you had were cuts and minute bruises. Never this long and deep scar.”
How did that person even survive after hurting him? “No one hurt me, I gave this wound to myself.” He looked into my eyes, speaking honestly. “Why?” My lips quivered. Salty tears summoning up my pupils. “I deserved it. It’s my punishment for hurting you.”
Covering my mouth I break out in an ugly sob. He did it to himself because of me? I’m the culprit for that mark on his body?
-FLASHBACK- (THE DAY JIMIN RETURNED FROM WAR)
Jimin ordered the guards to leave him alone. Locking himself in the basement. This was the same place where his enemies were tortured by his guards and later killed by him.
