Fucking asshole.

She rubbed at her shirt with the thin napkins. Which were fucking useless. She grabbed toilet paper, trying to get the wetness out of her shirt. She could wash the beer stain later when she got home.

She heard the door open and the drunken man from earlier stumbled in.

"Excuse you? Asshole? I'm fucking in here." She spits.

He grins, showing his nasty teeth. Which actually had fucking food in them. Ruby felt sick.

"Well I'd like to be fucking in here too if you don't mind." He leers.

Ruby choked on air. Coughing, she reached her hand into her pockets for her keys, tucking them in between her knuckles.

Perv.

"Well then if you move the hell out the way, I'll leave you to do that in peace." She says.

"No, I want you to stay." He said.

Ruby opened her mouth to retort, when she heard a voice behind him.

"No she's not." Griffin speaks.

"Aw man come on we were just gonna have a little fun." He says.

"No she's not." He repeated. "Come on Ruby."

Really? Another stupid man who thinks I need saving?

She rolled her eyes and pushed past him, but when she did, he reached down and pinched her ass. Ruby stopped and turned around.

This motherfucker really wants to die, doesn't he?

"Did you really just do tha-"

"Oh come on baby you know you liked it." He said, leaning down.

She clenches her jaw nodding. She turns to leave, before spinning on her heel, throwing her fist into his jaw, knocking him back into a wall.

"Oh you little whore!" He gets back up, stepping forward, but before he could get to Ruby, she kicked the bathroom door into his head, knocking him out cold.

She looks up at Griffin's shocked face.

"Wow." He said, looking down at her.

"Think I've been a world class agent for two years and not learned how to throw a punch?" She scoffs.

He hesitates.

"You're going to have me teaching you how to fight like that so if you're ever in a similar situation at work, or on a mission, you aren't left out cold on the floor like that sick fuck." She says.

"Look, I'm sorry about earlier. I shouldn't have said what I said about you and my brother." He said, looking uncomfortable, and avoiding her gaze.

"Yeah, you shouldn't have." She says. "Be at the obstacle course tomorrow at five."

She goes to push past him but he grabs her wrist, gently, but firmly.

"Five? In the morning?"

Ruby yanks her wrist out of his grasp.

"Yes. Got a problem with that?" She asks.

"No, it's just earlier than expected." He says, looking down.

Why wasn't he looking at me?

He takes his jacket off and hands it to her.

"What do you want me to do with this?" She wrinkles her nose.

"Wear it. It's cold, your shirt is wet." He growls, still not meeting her eyes.

She looks down at chest and back up at him.

Right I forgot men can't function right within five feet of tits.

She stares at his face, silent and unmoving until he looks at her. His bright eyes meet hers and she furrowed her brows, glaring at him. He focused so furiously on her eyes, before letting them drift down to her chest as she clenched her thighs together, trying to ignore the butterflies in her stomach.

Don't you dare. She scolds herself. He's an intern.

"My eyes are up here."

He rolls his eyes.

"Just put on the damn jacket." He says.

"No." She smiles, turning on her heel and walking away, hips swaying as she walked.

Be a bitch, don't get attached.

She sat down across from Lexi and DIego. Griffin sat down, scooching over so his thigh was brushing against hers.

Goddamn intern being so fucking annoying.

"You have three seconds to stop invading my personal bubble, Little Ellenwood, before I pepper spray you in the eyes." She says, sipping her drink.

"Funny how you call me little, when I'm almost a whole lot taller than you." He smirks.

She looks over to the other two.

"Are you two drunk enough? Can I take you home now?" She asks.

"Un momento, Ruby." He says, pulling Lexi, who had fallen asleep leaning against him, on top of him.

Quickly getting out a sharpie and drawing a squiggly line across her face, and throwing her over his shoulder. He stands up and finishes the rest of his beer, grinning. Trying to adjust her so that she's as comfortable as she can be, he hands her his phone.

"Ruby do me a favor, and get a picture of her asleep over my shoulder, drooling, with a mustache, so I can make it my lockscreen." He says, laughing.

She grins evilly and snaps several photos, sending a few to herself.

They pay and walk over to their cars, laughing.

Ruby and Diego get in the backseat, and Ruby slides into the front seat, watching Griffin stalk back to his car. Before he gets in he stops and looks back at her, before closing the door and driving off.

What is his deal? He didn't bother to look at me for all the years we went to high school together, so why now?

Ruby shook her head, and buckled her seatbelt, clearly her mind of him, and his stupid, beautiful, face.

I don't need distractions. She thought, mentally kicking herself. Especially not a stupid fucking intern.

No matter how attractive he was.

I really want to write their 'spicy' scenes already, but I'm trying to make it good slowburn.
