No one really knows me, I mean I'm close to people but no one really knows my whole story. That's what I was thinking when I got a call from the FBI. I'd been working as a detective for nearly a decade at that point, mainly in Seattle but I did a couple of years in Massachusetts. However, I'd never gotten a call from the FBI, for fucks sake the goddamn FBI calling me? I didn't really know what to do. It rang once, then twice, and on the third ring I picked it up. "This is Agent Hotchner with the Behavioural Analysis Unit ", what the hell is going on is all I could think but I responded with "Hello Agent Hotchner, I'm Detective Y/L/N, what can I do for you?". The answer shocked me; "I would like you to join the Behavioural Analysis Unit with me and the rest of the team at the FBI headquarters". I'd admired the BAU for so long, I'd researched their science and their origins, how David Rossi and Jason Gideon had started in the basement of the FBI headquarters in Quantico and had later coined terms like "Serial Killer", "Signature", "Trigger", and "Stresser". To be completely honest with you I was starstruck and stuttered over my answer to the point that I was surprised he could understand what I was saying; "O-o-o-f cou-ou-rse!". The thing I least expected besides the fact that the real Aaron Hotchner just asked me to join the BAU was what he said next "We would like you to start on Monday, is that possible". Today was Saturday and I was living in Seattle so I had no idea how I was going to move my whole life to Quantico, Virginia but at that point, I didn't care one bit. I responded as quickly as I could with "Yes sir, I will see you Monday, thank you for this opportunity.". Wow-what just happened!

The next couple of days went by in a flash, I packed up all I thought I needed, cleaned up my apartment, and got on a plane to Quantico, Virginia. When I got there I went straight to an apartment that I'd found on Air B&B and unpacked, trying to calm down, I was starting my dream job the next day and couldn't even think about sleep. I tried my best though, taking a relaxing shower, getting into bed, not looking at my phone. But all I could think about was the next day. The current team of the BAU included; Unit Chief Aaron Hotchner, Co-Assistant Unit Chiefs Jason Gideon and David Rossi, Media Liason SSA Jennifer Jareau, Head Interviewer SSA Dr. Tara Lewis, Technical Analyst Penelope Garcia, SSA Emily Prentiss, SSA Dr. Spencer Reid, SSA Derek Morgan, SSA Elle Greenaway, and now would include me SSA Y/N Y/L/N. I had talked to the FBI one other time after Agent Hotchner called me saying that I would now be known as SSA Y/N Y/L/N or SSA Y/L/N and would be given a new gun and badge when I started on Monday. I was so nervous, little did I know how much I would go through with this team. To be continued...
