The sun was just starting to come up while a guy about seventeen years old was wearing well worn blue pants and a black shirt, walked barefooted along a dirt road that was well worn by horse and carriages. It was surrounded by trees and bushes that were skillfully cut back from the road. His brown hair was frizzy thanks to the humidity while his brown eyes just looked foward. He walked like he was the baddest thing in the jungle and not anything would dare attack him.
Some people in there carriage being pulled by a horse were coming toward him. When they realize who it was they quickly got over to the far side of the road and waiting for him to past. He glance at them out of the corner of his eye to see them shaking in fear so he just kept walking on.
After about two hours walking on the dirt road through the jungle he walked into a huge clearing surrounded by mountains. Along the bottom of one mountain was a town with garden and livestock like goats, cows and horses all through out the field. As he walked to the town everyone in the garden stared at him and took a few steps back while gripping there rakes and hoes as if ready for an attack. He just keep walking not paying them any mind.
When he got in the town it was the same story people hiding or taking a few steps back griping whatever they held in their hand even tighter. The town may have been out in the middle of know where but all the houses were made of stone. It took the people a while to craft them but the end result is worth it. Its was a stable home to fight almost every type of weather. If you looked closely at the mountain you can make out some stairs that just go straight up.
"Drake, What are you doing in town?" asked a man walking up to him holding his sword tightly He clothes like everyone else was dark colored and well worn with dirt covering it.
"Just want the food the town promised." He replied
"Its at the temple. This isnt a trick i promise just please take the food and leave us be." the man begged getting on his knees
Drake just stared at him then started up the stairs to the temple at the top of the mountain. The townspeople all fell to their knees praying. The man who spoke started up the stairs behind him as if to keep an eye on him.
It took them about an hour climbing up the stairs which went straight up. The man tried his best to keep up with Drake but he keep having to stop but Drake didn't have that problem.
When Drake reached the temple grounds he looked at the temple which was a large building that seemed to be apart of the mountain itself. The plant life grew all over the building and if
you didn't give it a second look you would have thought it was a part of the mountain. The only thing that really stuck out was the wooden double doors in the middle. The grounds was overgrown and there was a stone path that lead from the stairs to the wooden double door which was being blocked by the people who worked there. They made a straight line on the path as if to stop him from getting close to the temple. These people wore a long brown robe with a black rope to tie it off in the center. The head of the temple would wear yellow with a blue rope.
" Your food by the trees. Please take it and go we don't want no trouble." one of the monks yelled and the others nodded.
Drake went over to the tree where the food sat in three brown sacks that were tied to a pole. He threw the pole over his shoulder and start back down the mountain passing the man on the way who jumped off the stairs to get out of his way. The man just walked to the top of the mountain to talk to the people of the temple.
"Hey Lucas, did he cause any trouble in the city?" A man asked wearing a yellow robe.
"No. I wonder if hes bad streak faded out?"
"Maybe he never had a bad streak to begin with." the man in the yellow robe said walking away
"Isaac, you must never forget what he done. It may have been ten years ago but something like that doesn't die in a person." Lucas yelled
"Lucas you need to look at a person's heart and their actions. If they match up then you truly know the person if not then something is off." Isaac said turning around looking him in the eye
Isaac glared at him the walked away back down the stairs hoping to beat Drake to the bottom.
Drake made it to the bottom and everyone stood back to let him leave the city but all of them holding some type of weapon from rakes to swords. He just followed the road back not paying them any mind.
When he walked on the roads beside the garden he notice all the people disappeared so he grabbed some crops like corn, peas, and potatoes. When he grabbed all he wanted he started back walking on the road toward the jungle with the sun over head.
When he got to the edge of the jungle he looked back at the village with a sad face then continued into the jungle.
