"Here's the largest room in this mansion, Ms. Stewart. The previous owner used this a dance hall but accidents do happen-" the real estate agent let out an awkward laugh, "I'll leave you for a while Ms. Stewart feel free to check out" loosening his tie, he walk out of the empty room-the echoes of his foot steps faded.
The warm rays of morning light illuminates the entire room. Though, there's dust particles floating around and dirty sheets covering the stacked chairs, the large dusty windows that almost reach the ceiling makes it fancier than its worth.
I began removing the musty sheets revealing an old gramophone, weird enough there's a vinyl on it almost looking like its waiting for someone to play it. I looked around like a fool checking my surrounding when I am all aware that I'm the only person in that same place. With a deep breath closing my eyes, I played the vinyl.
I used to hear a simple song
That was until you came along
Now in its place its something new
I hear it when I looked at you~A calming tune echoed the whole hall as if its-alive. I felt warmth and a slight pull towards something or someone. With my eyes still closed I gave in and it pulled me to the middle of the room.
The music gets louder, call me crazy but its like a band or musicians were playing it for me as I danced along
With simple songs I wanted more
Perfection is so quick to boreMy hands travelled from his hands to his shoulders. He's a few inches taller to me considering I'm 5' 4. He has a well toned yet soft skin and though I can't he him he guided me well. He placed my arm on his left shoulder while holding the other one.
Our flaws are who we really really are
He pulled me closer, we danced to the music. I never felt so magical and calm almost like I'm dreaming in real life.
I used to hear a simple song
That was until you came along
You took my broken melody
And now I hear a symphonyHe gave me twirl and lifted me up, a familiar feeling send shivers down to my spine, like I am now in a ballroom
The feeling of warmth, happiness and love filled the entire room, As the beats gets louder making it more realistic- an explosion of emotions and colors overwhelmed me.We danced and we danced till our hearts content.
Slowly the music ends and the feeling of emptiness came back, the musicians are gone and now the sound is only from the gramophone playing.
And now I hear a symphony
With the last line of the song he let my hands go, the warmth of his skin faded.
I opened my eyes to see an empty room filled with floating dust particles. The large oak door opened " Ah! Ms. Stewart sorry for taking so long I had to answer a quick call from the office, so what do you think? We still have the other rooms to see" his persuading stance somehow knock me into reality.
I looked back to the gramophone once again letting out a deep sigh " That would be lovely" I gave him a weak smile walking towards him.
Before I close the door I noticed a portrait of a man " Uh, excuse me Mr. Donovan?"
"Yes" looking back at me.
"Who is that man on the portrait?" pointing on the portrait hanged on the wall near the gramophone.
"Ahh! He's Benedict Williams he used to own this mansion but he died few months after painting the portrait due to sickness. He is the reason why this mansion has this huge room for dancing because he loves it"
"I'll buy the mansion" not sure of what I'm doing. Looking at Benedict's portrait made me feel what i felt when I was alone in there.
"Ha? I-uh are you sure?"
I gave Mr. Donovan a nod " Yes-ah right away Ms. Stewart" leading me to the living room. Before closing the door I once again looked back not on the gramophone but to the portrait and close the door.
