Luz, King and I were all seated in the living room. I was putting together lesson plans to submit to Principle Bump and Luz was reading a pamphlet about Hexside that I had given her. "King, listen to this!" King was laying next to me, trying to get me to pet him. "Come on, Kaia. More scratchy!" Luz sat up. "Now that I'll be a student at Hexside, I want to learn all about it. I've have a new crush and her name is Education!" I quirked a brow while chuckling. "And here I thought you had a crush on Amity." Luz' face went red and she squeaked a protest.

The door slammed open and Eda walked in with a huge grin on her face. "Hey freeloaders! Guess what today is?" She grinned. "Is your birthday? Is it Kaia's birthday?" Luz asked. "Is it my birthday?" King added. "It's my birthday!" Hooty said. I shook my head. "No, it's human treasure day, isn't it?" I said returning my lessons plans. "Yup!" Eda tossed the Portal door in the air and it unfolded and opened. Owlbert flies through, dragging a giant sack, he flipped it and a huge pile of human objects. I sighed at the mess on the floor and gave Eda a look. "Eda, really?" She waved me off. "Ahh, fresh garbage." King went over the pile and started rummaging through it. "Ooo, give me, give me!" He pulled out a teddy bear from the pile. "Yes! Another worthy addition to my army of terror." I shook my head with a smile went back to what I was doing. "Hey, kid, Kaia. Your trash piles are getting cold, while mine's getting hot." Eda said to us but Luz ignored it and I waved Eda off. "You can have mine, Eda. I'm a little busy preparing lessons for the next semester." That caught Luz's attention and she moved beside me. "Ohh! Can I see?" She asked excitedly. "It's just the basics for now. I'm still need to see where the older students are at for me to figure out a plan." I replied. Luz looked back to her pamphlet. "Did you guys know that Hexside was built on the bones of its rival school? One it literally conquered!" Luz shows off the pamphlet, showing a picture of a much younger Principal Bump standing on various Glandus students, being cheered on by fellow Hexside students. The school burning behind them. Eda groaned and I laughed a little. "Yes, Luz, we do now that. Eda and I did attend Hexside after all." It made me very happy that Luz was excited for school. It wasn't something you saw much of nowadays. "Yeah and it was the most harrowing period of my life."

Either Luz hadn't heard Eda's last part or she just ignored it but she continued on talking. "Can you imagine it! Me, in the halls of Hexside, studying with Willow and Gus and- maybe even Amity! Amity! Oh cramity! We're supposed to meet so I can get my Azura book back!" She jumped up and ran towards the door. "I love you guys!" And she was gone. I shook my head with a fond smile.

At the market.

Luz ran through the market ground, looking for Amity. "Amity, Amity, Amity, Amity. Gotta find that- oh! There she is. Hey Amity! Luz is finally here!" She shouted but suddenly Edirc and Emira appeared in front of her, surprising her. "Hi, Luz!" They both greeted. "Ah!" Luz fell back in shock, causing them to laugh. Amity scowled at her siblings before helping Luz up. "Edric! Emira! Stop bothering her! Sorry, Luz, they insisted on coming for some reason." Emira moved towards her little sister with a teasing smile and grabbed her face. "Because we love you baby sister!" Amity shoved Emira off of her with a embarrassed look. "They've been extra protective and nice towards me to make up for the library incident." Amity said and Edric leaned in. "And we still apologize every day." Amity shoved him away as well and pulled a book out of her bag. "In any case, here's your book." She held out to book towards Luz, who took it from her. "So, what did you think?" She asked, smiling. "It was...fine." Luz raised an eyebrow with a small smirk on her face. "So fine you drew yourself with Malingale the mysterious Soothsayer?" She said as she held out a drawing. Amity's face went red and she quickly destroyed the drawing. "This is great! Maybe we could even start an Azura club at school when we're classmates!" Luz said excitedly. Amity looked confused. "When, we're...what?" She asked. "Surprise! I'm enrolling at Hexside! And Kaia is becoming a teacher there!" Amity's eyes went wide. "What, Lykaia is going to be a teacher at Hexside!" Luz nodded. "Yeah, she agreed to Principle Bump's request, cause he kept bother her about it!" Amity was excited but then a though occurred to her. "You do know that you have to take a placement exam and prove that you've mastered at least two spells. I know you have your light thing but do you know any other spells?" Luz was confused. "Placement exam? Spells?" Amity nodded. "Because if you don't, they'll put you in the baby class, but I'm sure Lykaia's has taught you something right?" Luz thought back to what Lykaia had taught. Lykaia was a strict teacher and mostly taught Luz the basics and the dangerous of using magic without knowing what you actually doing." "Uh, Kaia mostly teaches the basic things. Oh! And about herbs, potion ingredients and she always give scrolls to read, so I can always recognize stuff." Luz explained. Amity nodded, that was good way to begin and very important in the long run. "That's good. I'm sure you've mastered two spells then." Luz chuckled hesitantly.
