The wooden gates of hell opened and a flash of light hit my eyes, the light burnt as if it had been dark my whole life. My eyes adjust to the light and all I see is large oak trees surrounding me. Rubbing my eyes only to feel something on my face, I look at my hands to see blood drops drip down my fingers, and fall onto the dry Barron ground like rain drops on the dust. Purity lost, but free. It was over.
To tell you how I got there, I must first tell u about Damon.
My life was simple, easy, I never fought for anything. My parents were there but not there for me. They won my love with money and presents. I had everything but no one, we moved a lot, being an army brat, my home was everywhere but consisted of the basics never making our house a home. I smiled each first day of school hoping it would be the last, making friends the same way I always did. Fakes smiles and typical school girl banter. It was just like every other school, always eager to please, making me feel welcome but not actually remembering my name. Trying to breathe but feeling alone and trapped running out of air. But then I saw him, I was no longer breathing but just standing there staring, heart beating so fast I felt like it could stop at any moment. Hoping he wouldn't notice me but not being able to hide. He walks past giving me a slight smile, my heart stopped. I had never wanted something so bad but not been able to have it. He was a challenge.
I spent the next couple of weeks talking to my "friends" but never really listening, just picturing him smiling at me. I finally got the courage to ask who he was, and they just replied, "He's trouble." But how could someone so sweet be trouble. Trying to figure out what I had just been told I took a walk not knowing where I would end up. Before I knew my feet were in the sand, the water rushing past me. I could breathe. The only time I felt free and right was when I was alone. The wind blowing through my hair, taking the deepest of breathes like it 'twas to be my last. Then as if someone was whispering in my ear I hear a faint "hello", I turn to see no other than him smiling at me the same way as he smiled before. I just stood there as if it wasn't real. He didn't speak for what felt like minutes he just smiled. Not blinking so I wouldn't miss a second of his smile. All he said was "Your new, right?" Without out even thinking I replied "I'm always new". This wasn't my usual fake response of "Year I just started here, it's great." For some reason I couldn't lie to him, he already knew me to well. He just said in the most sincere voice I had ever heard, "I understand", and he did. He had the smile of a lover of life, but the eyes of a sufferer. The same smile and eyes I had. We spent hours on that beach talking about life. He was seen as the typical bad boy, going no where always screwing up. But he was just a boy who had to give up his childhood so young, that he gave up all chance of a future to give his family one. He told me he often came to the beach, and just sat here for hours breathing and screaming, saying everything with no one there to judge. I told him my life of always being the new girl but never being me, having parents but never a family. He just smiled listened, no one had ever cared as much as he had. The sun was going down but we didn't notice, until my phone rang to break the silence, it was my mother. I had to leave but before I did I asked for his name, he smiled once more and replied, "It's Damon". I smiled and walked up and off back to my fake smiles and parents, but just wishing I could spend eternity with him on that beach.
I actually looked forward to school no fake smiles just excitement, I knew he would be there. I walked into school searching through all the skirts and ties to see his smile. He was no where to be seen, that smile turned to disappointment. I turned around to see Damon smiling at me. The first words he said to me were " I didn't catch your name yesterday". Everyone staring and whispering as if this was an impossible occurrence to be happening. But I didn't care, I didn't care about fitting in I just replied, "My name is Samantha, but everyone calls me Sam". He breathes in and whispers, "Then I will call you Samantha, it suits u better, shall I see you later?" My heart racing again, without thinking I blurted out "YES!" He laughs. The bell rang and he just kissed me on the cheek and walked off. I stood there stunned not wanting to move just save that moment for eternity.

Short StoryIt's just a dream I had. No grammar or anything just had to write it down. Pretty quick but it's a dark but slightly romantic short story.
