The wolf and the rabbit (girlxgirl)

Chapter one: When I saw her

I awoke with the irritating sound of the beeping of an alarm clock on the first day of school. I was scared, I didn't want to go to school again, everyone always make fun of me, because of my tail, I wasn't the smartest or the cleanest. I mean I live in a tree and take baths in a stream.

I rolled onto my back and yawned wide, showing my razor sharp fangs. The beeps seemed to get louder, I flipped onto my paws and padded over to the my phone and poked it with a claw. The beeping stopped. I walked out of the small opening in the tree and walked toward the near by stream to get a drink and bathe.

The water was cold, as always. I stepped in, rolled around, then jumped out and shook my pelt off, trying to free the water clinging to my fur. I padded tiredly back over to my tree and stepped in, I looked at my phone, 8:30. Crap... late again. I thought to my self. I shook my self once again and got dressed, this time with human hands and not my paws.

Don't get me wrong, I love what I am but sometimes I wish I was normal, no tail, or ears. Just a butt and normal little cute human ears. Yeah, I'm a shifter, a wolf, oh yeah, I bet your wondering who I am and what I look like, right? Well my name is Nicole, but I prefer Nikki. In my human form I have blond hair and bright blue eyes, I'm pretty tall for my human age and I'm in seventh grade. In my wolf form I'm a tan wolf with bright blue eyes.

I glanced at the clock once again, 8:45, shoot, I've got to go.. I jumped out of the den and ran on my paws to the edge of the forest. I love the forest so much, it makes me feel free, and i love it. A normal day for me is being late to school, then when I get out I go to work, I mean how else would I afford a phone and school, and normal home lunches? Come on, I know it would be weird to bring a dead bird in a box to school. Human food is pretty good, but I love the fresh still warm prey, caught by my self. And no one to share with.

Once I reached the edge of the forest, I remembered my bag, back in my den. CRUD! I shouted to myself, turned and padded quickly back to my tree. I panted harshly, walked in grabbed my bag put my cloths in it, put it on my tiny wolf body and ran back to the edge. There I had a bike, it looked much better to see a girl riding a bike then a wolf running down the street with a bag.

I shifted back to my human form, put my cloths on and got on my bike. I looked at my phone once again before riding to school, 9:00. I slipped it back into my pocket and rode to my Junior high. I can never remember the name of it though, all well. There it is, the red faded brick Junior high. I rode around back and locked up my bike tightly with a combination lock and chain.

The bell rang, I looked at the school worriedly, if my teacher caught me, I would be in so much trouble. Not like this would be the first time though. I've gotten in trouble for having a tail, and wearing my hat to hide my wolf ears. I would try and hide my tail, but how do you hide a huge puffy blond tail?

"Running late again are we miss Nicole?" I froze and turned slowly.

"Hello Mrs. Ren..." She was tall, wearing a black pencil skirt and whit blouse, with brown hair. Very pretty human if you ask me.

"We have a new student in class, and I was hopping if you could show her around, as punishment for being late, again." I looked up at the tall thin woman and nodded, this wasn't the worse punishment I've ever gotten from her, last time I had to stay after school for and hour to take a test I had no idea how to do, instead of going home, getting a snack and going to work.

"Sounds good, who is this person?" I said, my voice filled with wonder.

"Her name is Vinasha," I saw a small timid face poke out from behind Mrs. Ren. Naturally I looked over and said hello. The small human looked at me with fear in her eyes, they were a soft green, and her skin, was very pale. Wow, now that's one gorgeous little thing. I thought silently to my self, eyeing her up and down.

"She's quite shy though, I haven't gotten her to say a word all day in class, maybe you could get her to say something" Mrs. Ren introduced her. "Just show her around school, then get go to lunch a little early." I nodded.

"Come on, uh... V-vi" I struggled to say her name.

"Vinisha," Her voice.. Wow, it was small but smooth and friendly.

"Sorry, I'm not very good with names... But your's is very pretty," I extended my hand toward her's, she blushed and took it. Her hands where very soft, if she was mine, I would hold them all day long.

For the rest of the day, we spent our time walking slowly around the school. When the last school bell rang I took her out for ice cream at a shop near the school. After that she when home and I proceeded back to the school to get my bike, and headed to work. Work was boring and long, I worked at a Home Depo. I'd much rather work at a Hobby Lobby, or some art shop. I don't care much for heavy moving, or building.

After work, I was paid, since it was Friday I went a head and took my self out for food at a Wendy's then headed toward the edge or the forest.
