Donald woke up in his boat house in the middle of the McDuck Manor's pool. He groaned as he sleepily looked around for his phone to check the time; 11:05. "Seriously? It was already that late?" He started to make his way out of his hammock when a loud knock came at the door. Donald jumped at the sound causing the hammock to spin and him falling on his face. he went to the door to find that Duckworth had dropped off his mail for him at the door step. He flipped through it quickly, throwing out all the junk, but something caught his eye. A letter in a gold aluminum envelope. There was no sender but his name was written on the back in big curly letters. Curiously he opened it but the note inside only raised more questions."Find me - 122 1/8 Sheldgoose Square."
"That's it!?". This was weird. Even for Donald Duck- nephew of the great Scrooge McDuck- direct friends with the powerful Mickey Mouse. considering- a letter like this should not be to strange or unheard of to him but he just couldn't shake off the thought: "Why me?". He stared at it for a while contemplating if he should just throw it away or not, but he was just to curios! he finally decided to just question scrooge about it. this seemed like something he would deal with so maybe he would have the best answer on what he should do with it.
Donald made his way into the mansion and up to Scrooge's office. He knocked on the door, waited, no answer. He opened the door slowly, hoping to not upset him if he was in there.
"Hello?" Donald's voice echoed through the empty room- Scrooge was no where to be seen. "Maybe the boys know where he is" Donald thought. He made his way to the triplet's room and knocked on their door - no answer. To this he opened the door quickly expecting to find an empty room and sure enough no one was there. He sighed looking down hopelessly at the strange letter in his hands. They had gone on another mission without him again. This used to make him mad, so angry his whole body would turn red; but now it just made him depressed. Ever since he was stranded on the moon with no way home and then finally being reunited with his family again only to find out that they never even looked for him because none of them realized he was gone; he couldn't help but feel completely useless to them. It all started when he moved back in with Scrooge. It didn't matter that he had been the one to raise the triplets for the past twelve years. They now lived with there much cooler, more exciting, and richer uncle Scrooge and Donald was cast aside. Now Della is back and Donald couldn't be happier to have her in his life again but at the same time its made him feel more unimportant to the rest of his family. He remembered going on grand adventures with Della and Scrooge as a kid and he remembered how much fun they were. Those memories were some of the best memories Donald had. He would give anything to go on adventures like that again; but they never ask him to come. The boys used to at least tell him they were leaving but lately they don't even do that anymore. Aside from the occasional "hey uncle Donald" the triplets rarely talk to him anymore. Donald could feel his eyes water as his vision started to blur. He held the paper so tight in his hand that it started to crumble, but then he realized something. This note was addressed to him. Only him. His family never cared to invite him to join in their wild mysteries so why should he? The sad expression on Donald's face quickly turned into a determined one as he walked through the mansion, to the garage with his head held high.
He walked through the massive garage, looking at the several cars Scrooge had. Scrooge had told him before that he could always use one of the cars in the garage if he ever needed one- after his car got drove off a cliff in another wild adventure he wasn't apart of. He looked around for the car that he self consciously claimed to be his own. It was the one he always used and Scrooge hadn't touched it in years. It was a small, maroonish color car and it was nice but not super fancy - perfect in Donald's eyes. He got in the car - pulled out the keys that he had always kept on him; after all Scrooge never realized they were missing, typed the address into his phone's gps and he was off.
