[THIRD PERSON POV]

"We can't just sit around and wait for them to strike, we need to find them, bring them down, before they have the chance to bring us down." Steve stated, annoyance lacing his tone, matching the frustrated look he had painted across his face.

"What exactly are you suggesting Steve?" Bucky argued, his flesh fingers rubbing against his temple in and exasperated manner.

"We need to get to them Buck! Why is nobody listening to me?" He yelled, slamming his fist down on the table, anger bubbling out of him.

"Because your being repulsive Rogers!" Sam outraged, causing a dull silence to fill the room. Sam sighed heavily before continuing. "HYDRA's been quiet for weeks, if they were planning something, they would have done it by now."

"I'm sorry Steve, you know I usually side with you but.. Sam's right." Davina pressed gently, reaching over and placing her hand on his shoulder as an act of pity. "I know HYDRA better than anyone here, if they wanted to strike again, they would have done it by now." She took in a deep breath and glanced over at Bucky, who spoke the words she was about to say. The words everyone in the room was thinking, well, everyone except Steve, who seemed to be living in denial.

"They're waiting for us to attack first.. It's what they want. We can't give them what they want, when HYDRA has the upper-hand... They win, always." He spoke with his eyes glued to the kitchen bench, refusing to face any of the desperate eyes among the room.

It had been three weeks since HYDRA sent that blood-curdling message, three weeks of Davina looking over her shoulder, expecting someone to be there, taunting her. By week number two, her anxiety had slightly faded, she knew HYDRA's methods, so she knew there wasn't any reason to live in fear.. At least not for a while.

The four friends, plus Clint, who had decided he needed a break from his kids and the farm, were clustered around the spacious kitchen. Clint had his back leaning against the fridge, sipping his secret herbal tea creation and watching the dull argument play out before him. Davina and Bucky were sat on stools connected to the island. Steve was pacing slowly between the island and the sink, and Sam stood leaning against a counter, thoroughly enjoying his baked potatoes, trying to ignore the discussion going on around him, but failing miserably.

Steve let out an exasperated sigh and crossed his arms over his chest. "I just wish we knew what we're up against, we don't know anything. Damn we know nothing."

"Don't say that Stevie, an old soul once told me that it's easier to enjoy the moment your living in, instead of worrying about what's to come." She plastered an innocent smile on her face, forcing her gaze away from Bucky.

Her boyfriend cocked his head towards her in thought, his brows furrowed together as the recollection hit him. "Hey I told you that-"

"Oh look at the time! I'll be back my friends!" She yelled, already walking away from the group and towards her room.

She heard them chuckling from behind her, though as soon as she turned the corner, Davina started running. She raced down the hallways and flung herself into her room, collapsing into the bathroom just in time before the continents of her stomach escaped into the toilet.

The girl groaned in annoyance as she flushed her breakfast down the toilet and leant against the bathroom door, reaching up to the handle, making sure that it was locked.

Davina brought her knees up to her chest and buried her head into her arms, letting out a loud groan.

She brought her phone from her pocket and flipped through her contacts, hesitating over her dear friends name. "Oh fuck it." She mumbled, pressing call and bringing the phone to her ear.

Before the phone could even finish the first ring, she heard her best friends joyful voice exploding on the other end of the line.

"Vinnie! Babes it's been way too long! I was going to come visit the compound last week but everything was just-"

"Can I come over?" Davina blurted out, cutting off her friends string of rambling words.

There was a slight pause over the phone, causing Davina to scrunch her eyes closed, scolding herself for being so stupidly blunt. However, Wanda's next words caused the girl to breath out a heavy sigh of relief and allow a small smile to plaster across her features.

"Vinnie, you should know that you don't even have to ask at this point.. Didn't I already give you a key?" She spoke in her usual happy voice.

Davina chuckled. "I just wanted to make sure.. I'll be there tomorrow... If that's okay?"

"Davina Penton, just shut up and get here already, Vision's out of town and i'm lonely!" Wanda yelled through the phone, causing the brunette to flinch and laugh out loud.

She hung up and immediately started scrolling through the earliest plane flights from New York to Louisiana. As soon as a ticket was bought, she felt as if a huge weight was lifted off of her shoulders, causing her to release another heavy sigh.

Now came the difficult part...

She had to tell Bucky he was going to be a loner for a few days.

"VINNIE!" Wanda bolted herself towards the brunette, flinging herself into the other girls arms in pure joy and excitement at reuniting with her closest friend.

"Wanda!?" I told you I could get a cab! You didn't have to meet me at the airport!" She exclaimed, her voice slightly muffled from the girls ginger locks stuffed against her face.

"Oh shut up, it gave me something to do, and I just couldn't wait to see you." Wanda slapped Davina's arm playfully, swinging her arm around her shoulders and guiding her towards the carpark.

Wanda waited until the pair were seated comfortably in her car and driving along the expressway before she sprung her burning question. "So... Soldier-boy didn't tag along? I mean, definitely not disappointed he isn't here, much prefer a girls weekend than playing monopoly with his cheating ancient ass." She glanced briefly towards the Penton girl. "No offence."

Davina chuckled lightly. "No.. I needed this. Just this, a girls weekend. Those Friday nights in Wakanda were the only thing keeping me sane over there, I guess I just needed it again."

Wanda coughed awkwardly, stifling back a laugh. "Well honey.. If I'm the person keeping you sane then you might want to see a therapist."

Davina burst out laughing. "So where's Vision?" She chuckled, changing the subject away from her own love life and onto her best friends.

"London." She announced.

"London?!"

"Yep." Wanda replied.

"Why aren't you there?" Davina questioned cautiously, not wanting to overstep her boundaries.

"Well he wanted to travel a little, only for a week, and I decided that I'd stay here." She mumbled softly.

Davina looked at her questionably and the red-head sighed in defeat. "I feel as though I've spent my whole life running from something, after a while, travelling begins to feel a lot like running, so I'm not a huge fan of it."

Davina smiled weakly at the girl. "It's okay, I get it. I was gonna kick him out for our girls weekend anyway, so this just makes it a lot easier for me." She grinned slyly.

Wanda drummed her fingers against the steering wheel in amusement. "Yeah.. So was I."
