Akaza and I took our time whilst observing all the wondrous attributes of what the festival had to offer.

So many street-shops were alit from within, lines of people waiting to get a look at what they had to offer. And though we never joined a line-up ourselves, even I found items for sale that I would've enjoyed getting a better look at.

"Is there anything you want to buy?" Akaza inquired from next to me, most likely noticing my curiosity in which I was blatantly difficult at hiding.

I tore my gaze from food stand, the smell of the fresh udon having been drawing me in.

"Hm?"

A soft chuckle from the demon. "Do you want anything?"

Looking at him, my gaze flickered. I mean, of course there were items I wanted to buy. I hadn't actually allowed myself to shop for anything other than necessities in years. I couldn't even remember the last time.

"It's alright," I decided to say back, looking over at the sale shops again, my voice sounding more distant as my thoughts strayed.

There was... everything you could ever imagine. Items and hand-made designs that would do wonders for every home. And the food...

Akaza suddenly pulled me closer, saving me from running in to a group of people who also weren't aware of their surroundings. I turned to give my companion a sheepish look, apology written in my gaze.

He scoffed. "For an assassin, love, I would have thought you wouldn't be so easily... distracted," he mumbled, glaring slightly at a laughing group that passed by us, a few of the group members giving Akaza a second look that was all but friendly in return.

I laughed, linking our arms together in a more formal manner, forcing him to look back at me.

"For someone who should be hiding the fact that they're a demon as of now, you're doing a fairly terrible job at it," I retorted.

He peered down at me with a skeptical look.

It only caused another laugh to escape me. "Stop glaring at everyone, you brute. You're scaring everyone away."

"I don't like people," he said simply.

I sighed before speaking again. "But you like me, right?" I asked teasingly, nudging him with an all-knowing look plastered on my face.
