I'm here to tell the story of two soulmates. A girl, soft as rose petals and sweet as honey, and a boy with a damaged soul who believed he could accomplish what people told him he would never be able to do.

Talgran wasn't like the other boys, he liked the idea of romance and love. Whereas his friend, Kolvos, despised the topic. So whenever Talgran started talking about his crush, his friend never cared about it, until he found out who she was. And that's when he decided to say something about it. Despite all the sweet things the loverboy kept saying, Kolvos rolled his eyes and tried to be honest with him.

"She's not one of us, Tally. Do you actually think that a girl like that is ever going to notice you? Even if you disguise yourself, like you usually do when you go out, she'll see right through your lies."

And so, Talgran took that challenge and became a prettier version of himself, hiding his true nature, to go see her. He knew she would be playing with her bird Pickles near the lake where he first saw her, and so he decided to go there and introduce himself.

There she was. Her voluminous brown curls covered most of her back as she leaned towards the lake to drink some water, and the boy took a deep breath and shot his shot.

"Sorry to intrude but, is that the bird with the beautiful voice?"

"You mean Pickles? He's been singing for a while, so probably."

"Huh, I bet you're a better singer though."

"Not really," laughed the girl, "I'm more of a dancer. I'm Adriel, by the way."

"Talgran."

They talked as if they had known each other their entire lives, no awkward silences that needed to be filled. The girl laughed at all of his jokes, hypnotizing the boy with her laughter, making him wonder how to survive without it.

"I should get going." said the girl, noticing the sun was setting, "I need to be home before nightfall."

"Alright, " said Talgran, giving her his hand to help her up. He then pulled her close to him, kissed her hand and added "but you owe me a dance."

And with that, they both went their separate ways, Adriel with rosy cheeks and Talgran with butterflies in his stomach.

Who would've thought that a demon could make an angel blush like that?
