Trudging through farms, you walk aimlessly in the famished area. It was clearly shown people lacked knowledge of basic farming techniques. “Who are you maiden?” A man in his early 40’s questioned you politely.
“I’m new to this place. Is there a place I could stay in your village?” The old man tilts his head. “Mister, I’ll pay for it.” His expression made you protective of your child. You were wearing a long mid thigh oversize top and leggings.
“Are you alone?” You nod your head. “You seem like a married woman.” Noticing the locket in your neck, he asked curious. “Yes, I am married. My husband is currently in another country due to certain work related issues.”
“I had to inform him of my sudden decision to move cities. Apparently the previous city I resided in, met with war. I couldn't stay back there. It was unsafe for me and my unborn baby.”
You were prepared to fight the old man, if he tried misbehaving with you. His eyes widened, asking you to follow him. Your legs had started aching after running the entire time and then hiring a cart, later you had to walk again. You had made sure to come so far, where Jimin could never reach or think about finding you.
The man escorted you in a village, whose condition was poorly maintained. A man wearing antique jewels and his nose pierced came to you both. He had this ancient appearance terrifying you.
“Kumbha, this lady was walking in our crop land. She needs a place to stay, sadly because of a war she had to evacuate from her old residence. She’s pregnant.” His eyes sparkled.
“You could stay with us, for as long as you want.” Unlike his blank face he smiled at your frame. “I don’t want to take a shelter here for free. If there is any work here which I could help with. I’d be more than glad to assist you with it. I have knowledge of the crops, seeing it’s condition. I can tell it hasn’t been nurtured according to its necessities.”
Kumbha was interested in your talks. “Why don’t you settle down in our village first, then we continue this talk?” You grin nodding your head. They provided you with a small hut and a semi fine rug. There wasn’t any bed, a thin sheet was given along with it.
You having a low cold tolerance didn’t help you any better. “Life tests you Y/N you gotta live up to its expectations. Make it out for your child. You’re its father and mother now.”
Sitting down on the cold floor, you hissed at its coldness. “If that idiot husband of mine was here, he’d probably have scolded me to have sat down.” A sad pout was seen on your lips.
“You’re father is stupid I do not regret leaving him behind. Though I miss the warmth the palace provided me. Nonetheless, I’m better off with this. Let’s see how I'll make it here.”
To your surprise the next day when you walked out of your hut. The entire village’s ladies had come up to see you. Some even hugged you. Grabbing your arms. You hated skinship, it was only Jimin whom you permitted to touch you after Yoongi.
Their affection and welcoming nature was suspicious in your eyes. “Oh My Lord you’re so pretty, how long have you been pregnant?” Her question might have been for mild information but you didn't trust anyone.
“I’m one week pregnant.” You easily lie. Though, it’s been three weeks. Those ladies were creeping you out. “Can you leave me? I feel suffocated and cannot breathe.” Requesting as soft as you could you kindly ask. “What’s your name, young lady?” A granny grinned. “I’m Shean.”
You decided to hide your identity. Not risking to expose your real identity to them. “What a mesmerising name.” She pecked your forehead, leaving you disgusted. “Can these people stop kissing and hugging me?” It was honestly irritating.
