I was casually strolling down the streets of London, my book clutched tightly in my hands. The sun was slowly sinking downward and the temperature started to drop. I was pretty darn warm though, I was wearing a huge bulky cream sweater and black cotton leggings with my brown boots with my red knee high socks peeking from the top. I was currently walking back to my flat from the library where I worked and practically lived.
I was passing a dark ally when I heard a low voice growl;
"Mine."
I turned around sharply, trying to locate who said that but I saw nothing but darkness. I shrugged it off and started to walk again.
I was looking at my worn out boots when someone grabbed my arm and pulled me behind a brick building. I was prepared to scream but the person placed a hand over my mouth.
Oh shit. Im so gonna die.....
I let out a gasp when I was pulled into their warm embrace. They snuggled their nose into the crook of my neck and inhaled deeply.
"Mine." The person grumbled into my skin.
It was the same deep voice I had heard earlier. I couldn't help but let out a whimper.
"Shhhh, love. I would never hurt you." The man squeezed me tighter.
"What's your name?" He asked, his voice surprisingly comforting despite my current situation.
"Pipet." I managed to get through my lips.
"What a lovely name! I'm Harry!" He said and pulled back, giving me a moment to get a look at his face.
He had unruly curly hair and vibrant green eyes. His face was....beautiful? Can a guy be beautiful? He was a few inches taller than me but from what I can tell, he was pretty well built.
He noticed I was checking him out and smiled, dimples creased into his cheeks. His smile, however, quickly faded.
"Im sorry if I scared you, love. That was defiantly not my intentions." He said scratching the back of his neck. I just nodded.
Is he nervous? Why would he be nervous? Im just little ol' me! At least I know he doesn't want to harm me.....
"Your not a talker, are you?" He chuckled. I shook my head.
"Would you let me walk you home? It's getting late and I wouldn't want a beautiful girl like you getting hurt." He asked, his voice genuine. A blush rose to my face at his compliment.
"Even if I said no, I believe you would follow me anyway." A small smile slipped onto my face and surprise washed onto his face but he quickly recovered.
"Why would you say that?" He smirked. I just shrugged and started to walk away and Harry caught just like I knew he would.
When you don't socialize much, you look closer at the people around you. You learn to get to know someone without interacting with them. How? By their body language and facial gestures.
Also, I hate to say it but I happen to listen in on other people's conversation. Like I said, I have my ways.
"So where do you live?" He asked.
"It's about 3 blocks away." I said quietly.
"I see. So how old are you?"
Why is this guy trying so hard? Why can't he go get some other girl? Im sure tons of beautiful girls adore him and I'm just a shy loser.
"18."
"Cool, me too." He smiled brightly.
We walked a bit longer before he looked at me with a very serious face.
"You don't have a boyfriend do you?" He asked me and I couldn't help but laugh.
"What?" He asked confused.
"I don't have any friends much less a boyfriend."
"How? I can't imagine a girl like you friendless!"
"Im a loser." I just shrugged.
I saw my house come into view.
"Well I can be your friend!" He said excitedly.
"Ummm...." I didn't get a chance to say anything before I saw Becky and Co. coming toward me. oh shit.
Becky was a total slut with the worst personality ever. She is the only person who thinks I'm worth picking on.
"Oh hello Poopet." She laughed at her own lane joke and her crew laughed as well.
Her group included Mark, Bethany, Tina, Colten, Nathan, Shelby, Nikki, Jenny, and Eli. They all reeked of plastic and slut. Personally, Harry is a lot more attractive than anyone of the guys in her poise.
I heard Harry growl from behind me. What the heck?
I saw Becky take a step back, obviously not seeing him. Harry put is arm around my waist pulling me closer to him, causing me to tense.
"Poopit, I didn't know you had a brother!" Nathan mocked surprise.
"You guys are so silly! Poopit has no family! They all died!" Bethany giggled. I felt Harry pull me tighter to him.
"His not my brother." I grumbled.
"Why else would someone talk to you?" Jenny smirked.
"Because I'm her friend." Harry snarled. Why is he so worked up? They were being nasty to me, not him!
"Poopit has a friend?" Shelby pretended to faint.
Harry pulled away from me but pushed me behind him and took a step toward the group.
"It's Pipit. P-I-P-I-T and yes. I am her friend if you have a problem with that then you can go fuck yourselves." He said in a low voice that made me want to pee my pants.
I think it scared the shit out of the plastics as well but Becky came back fast but not near as confident.
"You know, your kinda cute and I might have hooked up with you if you had stayed away from......it." She looked at me and cringed before strutting off, her backup following close behind.
"Thanks, Harry." I mumbled into his back.
"No problem." He smiled down at me.
We started up walking again. When I reached my front door, I expected Harry was going to leave but instead he stood there, watching me as I unlocked my front door.
"Uhhh....can I I have your number?" He asked nervously, a blush crept onto his face.
"Um, I don't have a phone." I looked at him strangely. A boy wanting my number? Woah.
"Oh." He frowned.
"I don't mean to intrude but what that girl said about your family, is it true." He creased his eyebrows. I nodded sadly.
"Im sorry." He said sympathetically.
"It's not your fault." I said quietly.
"Yeah I know but still..." He looked at his feet.
"Im going to leave now but I will see you around, Pipet." He gave me a sly smile before turning to leave.
"Bye Harry." I said and went inside.
I walked into my living room and dropped my stuff on the couch before sinking to the ground, absorbing what just happened
Wow, I have a friend.
