Well, I feel like my book is really irrelevant at this point so I will just finish it and be done .

BREANNE P.O.V

Dad said that I could stay home today but I decided against it, seeing that I already missed a day. With my jacket buttoned and my backpack on my shoulder I made my way to the door shouting a goodbye to my dad.
Outside Aaron and Valery walked up my driveway.
"Good morning Bre!" Aaron called. I slightly waved in confusion as Valery ran up and hugged me.
"I'm super sorry about yesterday. Forgive me?" she whispered and I nodded in her shoulder. We walked down the driveway and Aaron grabbed my hand, inter twining our fingers.
"You didn't answer my calls" he whispered.
"I'm sorry, I fell asleep" I half lied. I had indeed fallen asleep but not before seeing his missed calls. I couldn't tell him that I was crying either.
"You guys are so cute!" Valery exclaimed. Aaron smiled at me and gave my hand a slight squeeze.
We skipped our usual trip to Gregg's and headed straight to school.
Jessica strolled over to Aaron and grinned.
"Hey there." she grinned twirling a piece of her hair flirtatiously. She then noticed our interlaced fingers and huffed in annoyance before letting out a grunt and storming off.
"I still can't stand her voice" Aaron sighed, running his free hand through his hair and I laughed. Valery chuckled and mumbled something under her breath which I decided to ignore.

The last bell rang and I made my way to my locker. I placed my books in before grabbing my coat and putting it on.
"Yo." Valery giggled walking over.
"Hey" I laughed. Aaron joined us momentarily and we made our way to the the exit. He held on to my hand the same way he had this morning.
Once outside, Val went her seperate way claiming she had to run errands for her mom. Aaron walked me home and surprisingly dad was there.
Aaron's eyes were fixated on my father's car and a look that I couldn't decipher swam through his soft eyes.
"What's wrong?" I questioned. His heas snapped up and he met my gaze.
"Nothing" he smiled pulling me into a hug and kissing me before making his way home.

I was sitting on the couch eating an apple about halfway through Matilda when my father came down the stairs, suitcase in hand.
"Hey honey. I'm going on a business trip which should only last a week. I stocked the kitchen with food and snacks and I'm leaving you a hundred dollars. Sound good?" he rose his left eyebrow and my eyes widened.
"A week?!" I shouted.
"Calm down" he eased, only causing me to tense up more.
"Dad you can't just leave me for a week. Who's going to look over me?"
"You're old enough to care for yourself honey"
"What about my nightmares, Dad?"
"You'll be alright Bre. I promise" he said planting a kiss on my forehead.
"Love you" he called before waking out the door.

Around 12 a.m. I decided that I should get some sleep. I stood up from the couch stretching when there was banging on the door. I froze mid stretch and looked at the door panicking.
"Breanne, please open the door!"
It was Valery.
I made my way over to the door and she stood with bloodshot eyes and disheveled hair.
"Come with me" she said eyes glinting with some hope.
Grabbing my coat and keys from behind the door, I followed my best friend.
