Cale crossed his leg and nodded at her. He was suspicious of her in the first place. The North continent doesn't make contact with any other continents and it's like a closed-off country. Aside from that, he can deduce that her magical prowess exceeds Rosalyn in some way, coming here to the Roan Kingdom is not something she would do without any reason.

"Hmm... it's not like I was intending to not tell you, it's just it's so much information that I do not know where to start," Empress Helena said and looked at him with a nervous look. Cale leaned back on the couch before answering her.

"Then start with the marriage proposal, Why me? Why not those from your subjects in the North?"  Cale asked with a raised brow.

"The marriage proposal is really because I like you! and about my subjects... they're only a few left in the north," Empress Helena showed a bitter smile on her face before looking away from Cale.

"The marriage proposal was really because I admire you, Young master Cale. Can't someone just approach you from that?" Empress Helena looked at him with saddened look but Cale kept a straight face.

"Yes, they can't. So what was the other reason why you went here in the Western Continent?" Cale asked and watched her fiddle with her thin fingers before sighing.

"Its because the North is in dire need of help from outside the continent... Ah, how should I put this, its too hard to tell everything altogether," Empress Helena looks extremely troubled while she was thinking of how to tell him, and Cale feel iffy because of it.

'If you look at the reasons why she cannot tell it all at once and the reason why she came here in a gist of a marriage proposal, doesn't this mean that my slacker life will end sooner than I anticipated?' Cale thought and suddenly wanted to decline the marriage proposal,

"Then I'll start with the curse," Empress Helena said and took a deep breathe.

"The three-layered curse is a curse made by three dragons. It was bestowed upon me by the time I took the throne from my Mother."

Cale listened attentively and looked at her movements to see if she was lying or not.

"From the start, those three dragons living in the north were good children, they all hatched in the month I was born, and I was not restricted to meet them at all. But after the first phase... they started doing evil things as if a devil possessed those large bodies, It only took them ten years before they reached the second phase and well, given that dragons are the top of the hierarchy, the citizens of the North couldn't do anything but sacrifice their lives to tame the wild nature of those dragons." Empress Helena paused and released a weak sigh.

Before she started to talk again, Raon suddenly teleported inside with Eruhaben-nim. Empress Helena gasped in shock and the two dragons and Cale witness the earlier signs of the curse.

"Grandpa! is this really alright? Her mana is starting to fluctuate again!"

"Watch carefully, detect where was the curse inside her body,"

Cale looked at the two of the dragons before looking back to the empress.

"Cancel your magic for now, we will take care of you," Cale said as he stood up and started to walk towards her side,

"It hurts... I cannot cancel my magic... the change of temperature will... make me look weird," Empress Helena tried to resist but when she saw Cale's hand reaching out to her, she immediately canceled it in fear that he will get frostbite again.

"Hmm... Grandpa its not on her body," Raon commented while watching the human help the Empress sit up and let her lean to his shoulder.

"It seems that the curse would be located at the soul, but can you really pull that off?" Eruhaben-nim asked Raon while also assessing the Empress's body.

"You started to sweat so easily," Cale pointed that out while asking Raon for a clean towel to wipe the sweat off the Empress's face and neck.

"I-I'm sure you know of the rare case of albino humans, extreme change of temperature, affects our body more than other humans," Empress Helena said in a somewhat breathy tone as if she was having a hard time breathing.

"You're like an ice fairy in the summer breeze," Cale chuckled and helped wipe her sweat.

"Raon, use some cooling magic to the Empress," Cale said and Raon nodded.

Seeing the relief on her slightly blurred deep blue eyes, Cale couldn't help but smile and wipe the sweat trickling down her cheek.

"Feeling better now?"

"Wu, do you find those sickly beauty appealing? How could you bully me with your beauty trap, this is an offense!" Although indignant, Empress Helena's tone and expression were not matched, therefore, making her look more weak and vulnerable.

"Eruhben-nim, why did you and Raon suddenly came back? is it something urgent?" Cale put his attention to the two dragons and asks their reasons.

"I was interested on her curse that only reacts to dragon's presence, it was as if making this lady to keep herself away from other dragon's presence," Eruhaben-nim said with an amused look on his face while Raon was still confused at the side, looking at the weak empress being supported by the human.

"I know their attributes. The one from the North-West have the attribute of disease; the one from the North-west has the attribute of death, and the one in the far North of the Continent have the attribute of destruction." Empress Helena said and looked in the direction of Eruhaben.

"It's quite unbelievable, to think that the Northern Continent have those kinds of dangerous dragons," Cale was both amazed and worried.

"Is that why you told Cale earlier that the Citizens of the North are dwindling in number?" Eruhaben asked her and they all watched her purse her lips and nod her head.

"Hoh, so the marriage proposal was just an alibi to seek help to this unlucky bastard right here?"

"N-No! Absolutely not! I genuinely admire Young Master Cale for his brave and heroic acts! A-Ah , I also know he wants to be a slacker so I will make sure that he will get it while we're engaged or after marriage- if that is possible..." Empress Helena became flustered as she defended herself and warily looked at Cale's face.
