The New Guy: The One And Only Part

I watch as he stands there, admiring the way he can stand alone and look so not-lonely at the same time. What was it about this guy that intrigues me so? He shouldn't, at least I don't think he should. He's just a guy whose very cute and stuff. Gosh I feel the crush coming on. I hate it so.

I'm the mute girl, or so they say, I'm not really mute I just don't like to speak to people. I'm the girl with colored streaks in her hair, a book in her hands, and a very small smile playing at her lips. My name is Jenny. Such an innocent name for a not-so-innocent girl. I'm 16 and a half years old, I live in a small town Falls City, Texas, our school mascot is a beaver, and I don't like living here very much.

Back to about the boy, his name is Raven, he's the new guy, dark and mysterious and very drool worthy, he had raven black hair with dark blue streaks running through it, he had snake bites and a septum piercing, he has a strong jaw line and a light tan on his skin. Oh he was yummy. The girls here are blind, and stupid but that's no the point is I like him and he'll never know it. I seriously doubt he'll notice me.

Crap he's seen me, now what do I do? It's not like I was checking him out or anything. Was I? Ugh, yes I was and now he's walking over here. He's got the swagger walk, me likey. Crap, control yourself Jenny. "Hey I'm Raven, and you are?" I grabbed my book mark and showed it to him because it had my name on it. He looked at me and cocked his head to the side," I like that name, Jenny." The way he said my name was amazing, and now I sound like a fangirl. I started to blush even though I didn't want to do it, he just made me do it.

"Awe, your so cute when you blush," he said. That only made me blush harder, he had to know that would happen. "Whoa, calm down Jenny, I didn't know that would happen." I brushed my natural blonde hair back with my not-so-natural pink, purple, red, and blue hair behind my ear. I nodded my head at his words hoping he'll understand the meaning behind it. "So, what do you do around here for fun?" I raised my book up at his words. "Oh, ok. So you're a book worm?" I shrug my shoulders. "Well that's good so am I. I just forgot my book in my locker. Real book worm I am." I giggle at that. "Yeah, I do that a lot at school, not at home though." I nodded my head in understanding, I hated forgetting my books anywhere especially when I get to the good part and I just had to leave to do something. I made a motioning sign with my finger. He slowly followed me, school letting out a few minutes ago and everyone was standing around. He and I walked all the way to my house, just so I could show him something in the house I have lived in all my life.

We made it in the next few minutes and when we stepped in the door, the smell of something cooking was in my nose. I walked into the kitchen to greet my mother by the stove, she had been saving up for and finally got last month, she kissed me in the cheek and looked around to Raven who was standing close behind me. "Who is this, Jenny?" my mother asked. "Oh, sorry. I'm Raven, Raven Girdnt." My mother smiled at hime and gave him a bone crushing hug she gives everyone. "I'm Jenny's mother, Anna. It's a pleasure to meet you Raven." He smiled at my mother and said," the pleasure is all mine ma'am" My mother had a look of appreciation on her face,"what a gentleman you are." He bowed his head and slightly blushed at my mother's words. "You must be new to Falls City, where are you from dear?" He brought his head up and said,"I'm form Bellville, Texas. My dad found a job here and we decided to some with him." My mother nodded her head and asked,"Would you like to stay for something to eat, I'm almost done here in the kitchen anyway. You can invite your family to come too if you'd like." He nodded his head and spoke softly," I'll give my dad a call and see real quick, I'll be right back." My mother turned to me," he's a nice fellow isn't he? I know you like him." I nodded my head, my mother sure does know me.

Ten minutes passes by and Raven returns from his phone call. "I'm sorry that took so long, my dad was asking a lot of questions. Oh, and yes, my family would like to come." My mother smiled a big smile, a little bit smaller then the on she gives my father. "The more the merrier dear. Now you two go have some fun while I get busy here." I nod my head to my mother and walk out of the kitchen and towards the library we have near my room that I love so dearly.

When we step inside, Raven's eyes get big and round. A big smile spreads across his face and he starts to laughing. A bit of an odd reaction but I know where it's coming from, form book lover to book lover, I know.

We spent the next hour going through the books and i hear my mother calling and the door bell ringing. We set down the books we're reading down and scramble down to the kitchen to the front door to see who can answer it first. When I open the door, I saw a man, a woman and an eight or nine year old girl. I suspect it's his family because I've never seen them in town before. The man gives me a warm smile and so does the woman. Raven goes and introduces me and my mother to them. They seem like a nice enough family. His mom's name is Michelle and his dad's name is Justin while his little sister's name is Pieper.. They come into the house while me and my mother set up the table real quick and save a place for father because he will be here in a few minutes from work. As soon as I think of that, I hear the garage door open and the roar of the truck my father drives to and from work every morning. I jump up from where I was standing and run to the door to see my father. As soon as I see that he is out of the vehicle I jump into his arms and wrap my legs around his waist. He is my role model and my protector when I can't protect myself. He laughs at me and slowly sets me down, "how was your day sweetheart?" I smiled up at him and drug him inside. When we came to the kitchen everyone turned to look at us, my mom got the biggest grin on her face and walked up to my father and gave him a kiss and a hug like they always do. I made an 'ew' face even though I've been seeing this for years now.

I turn back to the table and sit down, within a few minutes so do my parents. We all start to talk and eat and tell stories about from where we came from and what we like to do. everyone knows that when stories are passed around that something embarrassing comes out. And knowing my family, it was my father. He was talking about how I would always sing and dance and how I would tell everyone about the books I read as a child, for some reason I found this very embarrassing. He started to get into detail and I didn't like it. I stood up from the table and walked to the library. Within seconds of walking in there and finding my seat again, raven walked in after me.

He sat down in the chair near me and took my hands in his. I kept my head down not daring to look into his eyes. "Jenny. I'm sorry that embarrassed you, and just so you know I thought that was very cute." I gave him a look. "Jenny, what I came in here for, is to ask you something." I looked at him, into his dark blue eyes with my own brown-green eyes. "I really like you and I was wondering if you'd like to go on a date with me?" I felt a smile slowly form on my lips. I looked at him and said, "yes Raven, I will go on a date with you." He looked at me and smiled. He slowly started to lean in and so did I. I could feel my eye lids dropping, I could see his dong the same thing. Soon we were right at each others faces and I slammed my lips to his, not willing to wait any longer. I felt electricity coursing through my veins, this handsome boy was kissing me in my library and I loved every second of it. We slowly pulled back and opened our eyes to look at each other. "Jenny I have another question." I nodded my head waiting for him to ask. "Will you be my girlfriend?" I smiled and said,"only if you'll be my boyfriend." He started smiling,"deal."

Epilogue:

5 YEARS LATER: We were at our wedding and enjoying every second of it. Here are the words I've been waiting for. "Do you, Jenny, take Raven to be your lawfully wedded husband?" I smiled all the way to my ears, "Yes I do." The Justice of the Peace turned his head to Raven,"Do you, Raven, take Jenny to be your lawfully wedded wife?" He was smiling the cutest smile,"Yes, I do." The Justice looked between us both,"I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride." As soon as he said that, I felt raven's warm, sweet lips land on mine. I felt the shock I felt every time we kissed, only this time more shocking.
