Umbran Warrior: Tyler's Tale

    "Damnit.." I sighed. The Dareni had gotten away again. I couldn't activate Darkened Time, because of the stupid challenge the other Umbran warrior gave me. Claire hadn't really expected me to live up to the task, so I got a pretty good gape from her when I accepted. My total killings added up to a measly 4568, being a newly Awakened warrior and all. It was three A.M. and I still had to get up in the morning. I sighed as I headed back to my house. My mother would kill me if she found out I was hopping around at night..

    "Good morning. Get up, Tyler!" My mother calls as she leaves for work. I sigh, quickly get changed, and head to school. On the way, I meet up with Raven, my dirtiest, most depraved friend ever. She had a habit of grossing Yani out (As I didn't care enough to get disgusted). Which brings me to Yani, politely waiting for us at the school's entrance. "Hello, Yani!" I call. When we get to her, Raven coughs loudly and mutters in a low voice, "Sorry, choking on dick." Yani whips around, and annoyed look on her face as I laugh unwittingly. Something feels odd about today...

   I see Claire in the halls and I stop my friends. "Do you sense somehing?" I whisper. She nods, and we go about our usual day, albeit on our guard. I go through the first half-day without issue, but as it progresses, I feel increasingly uneasy. Then, during lunch- after we get permission to go outside- we go to our secluded spot. It's near the school, but not easily seen, so we can talk freely. Then it happens.

   I sense it first, but any human can see the effects of the presence when the Birenni approach. The plants around us burst into full bloom, and a spring breeze wafts around us. "What the..." Yani and Raven say, almost in unison. I sigh. The only way to protect them is to bring them into the Other Realm, so they can try to dodge the monsters. You can't see them in the human world, and we warriors have access to agic- and we can create gateways so others can enter the Other Realm. I circle my hands in the air, and a purple gateway with the Umbran symbol appears. We all get into the Realm, and I immediately ditch my outfit.

   My t-shirt and jeans get replaced with a black lycra full-body suit, lycra gloves, stiletto combat boots, and a black long lab-like coat. I equip my guns- Silver Bells, a four double-barrel pistol set. In my left hand is Sapphire, my right hand is Ruby, my left foot (Magically equipped) is Emerald, and right foot holds Topaz. I jump, dodging the long spears thrown at me. It's Ranerai this time, and I laugh as I evade their attacks. 

   Jump. Twist. Flip. Spin. I easily outmaneuver the Ranerai, and it looks like I'm dancing with them. My friends stand there in awe, and I plunge into Darkened Time just as I dodge at the final moment before the spear pierces my body. Time slows down; and I can move just fine. I launch as many bullets as possible before I slip out of it; by the time I'm done, the monsters are reduced to bloody messes. I sigh, and turn to my friends, who are slightly covered in blood. "Guys," I begin, "We have a serious amount of talking to do."
