Ahsoka stares for a long time at the outstretched hand offered to her by Maul. She hesitates. Should she trust this Sith? What reason would she have to? Yet somehow it feels right to help him, and something tells her he is telling the truth. Ahsoka looks Maul straight in the eye and nods briefly. "I will help you." That phrase burns on her tongue as she says it. Saying that sentence to a Sith feels wrong. Maul contorts his face into what probably should have been a smile. "So what happens now?" asks Ahsoka. "The very first thing we should do is call our people back. There's no need for this fight now." Maul says this as if they're ending a boring game, and you can tell Ahsoka is cringing a little at that fact. This fight is not a game, but the brutal and cruel reality. But she doesn't say anything about it and both of them call their troops back over their comlink at the same time and within seconds the loud noises that have swept over Mandalor for the last few hours are silenced. Together Ahsoka and Maul run towards the landing platform and board a small ship. The destination is clear to both of them: Coruscant.
Ahsoka and Maul sit silently in the cockpit, staring into hyperspace. "What do you know?", Ahsoka interrupts the silence. It's a simple question, but still Maul hesitates. Ahsoka turns her head to him and looks at him questioningly. "I know that if we don't act quickly, darkness will fall across the galaxy," he finally says. "And why do you want to stop this?" Maul now looks her straight in the eye. "Because my former master would rule the galaxy, and that would not be to my advantage." The former Padawan now looks off into the distance again. Maul also averts his eyes from hers. "And what does Anakin have to do with this?" "He is the key to everything." "To bring peace to the galaxy ?" Maul gives a short laugh "No, to destroy it." "I don't think so. My master is the most caring and kind person I know." "It is precisely because of these weaknesses that my old master wants him to become his apprentice." Now it's Ahsoka who laughs out. "I know Anakin. He would never go over to the dark side." "Not even to save those he loves?"
That sentence makes the young Togruta think. Would he? She doesn't know. Anakin would probably really do a lot of things to save his friends, but switch to the dark side? Ahsoka is pulled from her thoughts as they emerge from hyperspace and see Coruscant before them. When they land on the landing platform in front of the temple, Master Yoda ( Yoda is also on Coruscant in this story) and Master Windu are already waiting for them. When the Jedi masters catch sight of Maul, Windu reaches for his lightsaber while the Grand Master remains calm and looks at them with a smile. Windu also lets go of his lightsaber as he notices Master Yoda's calmness and sees that Maul makes no move to attack them.
He just looks at Ahsoka asking, who just shakes her head and says, "Later. We have more important things to do now." The two council members nod briefly and walk towards the Senate building along with the former Padawan and the Zabrak. "Master Skywalker has just discovered that the Chancellor is the Sithlord we are looking for. We're on our way to turn him in right now." "Where is Anakin now?" asks Ahsoka. Windu looks at her, a little confused."I told him the Council would take care of that matter."
Ahsoka nods in relief. "Good, he can't be allowed near Chancellor Palpatine" "Why?" asks Windu. It's Maul who answers this time, " My old master wants to make Skywalker his apprentice by convincing him that only he can save the one he loves."
Windu raises an eyebrow. " I don't know everything either, Jedi." Windu just nods while Yoda still walks silently beside the three.
Suddenly, Anakin comes toward them. When he sees Ahsoka, a smile flits across his face, but it immediately disappears when he sees Maul. "what-" Ahsoka interrupts him immediately. "Not now. We have to stop Palpatine." Ahsoka's former master nods briefly, and is about to run along with the Jedi and Maul, but Ahsoka stops him. "Mas... Anakin, you can't come." At his frown, she adds, "Palpatine plans to make you his apprentice. Please don't say anything about it and just listen to me. Do you trust me?", Ahsoka looks pleadingly at her big brother. Anakin hesitates briefly but then nods . "Yes, I trust you."
