Summer of 1972

Elvira's first year at Hogwarts had passed, and it was very uneventful to say the least.

She was currently in the art room in her manor painting the landscape of her garden.

Then suddenly her vision was blocked by a pair of hands.

"Guess who?"

Elvira smiled as she said,

"Are you Sirius?"

"Correct!" Sirius exclaimed excitedly as he sat down in an empty chair.

Elvira chuckled before returning her attention back to her painting.

"Hey V!" A chipper voice called out.

"Hey Reggie." Elvira responded with a smile.

Regulus sat down in the seat next to his brother and put his legs in Sirius' lap.

"What are you painting?" Regulus asked the older girl.

"My garden."

"Oh."

Elvira shook her head when she felt two pairs of eyes on her. She turned to face the brothers who were both looking at her with a pout and pleading puppy dog eyes.

Sh rolled her eyes and said,

"Fine."

"Yes!" Sirius exclaimed as he and Regulus high fived each other triumphantly.

Elvira set her paint brush in the water and she tried to take off her paint but she struggled.

Sirius chuckled, clearly amused.

"Need some help?"

"Please."

Sirius walked over to the girl and undid the button and he pulled the straps of the bow undone.

He glanced up at the girl and a blush spread across his cheeks.

"Done." Sirius muttered.

Elvira pulled it off and hung it.

"Thank you." She said with a smile.

Regulus looked between the two and smirked at his brother when he saw him blushing.

"Shut up." Sirius muttered as Regulus began to chuckle in amusement.

"I didn't say anything Sirius."

The two boys followed the girl out of the room as she made her way towards the Library.

Sirius hummed as his fingers started running along the spines of the different books.

"Which one do you wanna read Reg?" Elvira asked the boy.

Regulus continued looking around in awe at the different books until finally he pointed to a light green one.

"Ooh, that's one of my favorite muggle ones!" Elvira exclaimed happily.

She pulled it from the shelf and examined the cover with a bright smile.

She showed it to Sirius and Regulus and said,

"Little Women."

"It's absolutely one of my favorites." Elvira said as she sat down on the window sill in between Sirius and Regulus.

"I think you'll enjoy it. Both of you."

Sirius rolled his eyes playfully and rested his head on the girl's shoulder.

Regulus peered over her arm to take a closer look at the pages as Elvira started reading.

Sirius smiled contently as the girl continued reading the book.

He enjoyed spending time with her, even if they just sat in silence.

Something about her presence was soothing and comforting.

And it always helped whenever Sirius needed to relax after another argument with his parents.

And this right here, was what he considered his actual family.

So Sirius knew that he would be okay, as long as he had Elvira, Regulus, James, Remus, and Peter in his life.

Because that was all he would need to survive.
